Fewer #1 votes, which cost Amy Adams her nomination. But what is that assumption actually based on?? Especially compared to contenders like Lee and Bening. Compared to Greta Lee? Probably. Her performance has a lot of passion. I don’t think Bening compares.

Uhmmmm, it absolutely wasn't. Top three is a stretch but it was in the top five. Although Adams missing is really the only example one can look in the category who got SAG then missed for a top five film.

I think Bening is just obviously respected abd revered as an industry veteran. She’s also hit all the same precursors as Robbie so far so the only argument for Robbie is the strength of her movie. I personally think Bening can overcome that but it’s not like I’m overly confident and would be surprised if Robbie got in. I also could see them both getting in and Mulligan missing.

Yeah, I think Greta Lee's done. She needed BAFTA to stay alive in the race.

Same 5 I've had for ages: Gladstone Stone Huller Robbie Mulligan I'm prepared for egg on my face, but I still don't understand the doubt some of you have in Robbie. Nothing changes

Bening did not hit all the same precursors - she missed Critics Choice, where they had 6 nominees. You can't discount the reality that Robbie in recent years has morphed into a Hollywood A-list actress and has gotten nominations from her peers with Oscar, SAG, BAFTA - that lesser names would not have gotten.

Robbie played THE Barbie in a movie called Barbie and the one that got nominated was a random lady who did a monologue (not a particularly good delivery btw)? The Academy really has some great sense of humor.
