Isn't he nominated as a producer anyway?? He won't show up at the Oscars and SAG because he's shooting the new PTA film right now. No, he's not nominated as a producer. Also, lol at the idea that Leonardo DiCaprio won't attend the Oscars because he's filming a PTA movie, as if DiCaprio couldn't dictate the terms of his shooting schedule and get the night off if he wanted to.

No. I think he has the same energy he had when asked about why he didn't turn up for Titanic. A simple, "I wasn't nominated."

First, he famously copped a lot of notice for skipping the Oscars that night despite Titanic sweeping the field, because he was a young heartthrob who wasn't nominated. Now he's in a situation where he's the headliner of an "important message movie" where his co-star could very well win the Oscar in a historic moment, and for him not to attend would be kind of the elephant in the room there. It'd read like a dick move, in all honesty, and I feel like he would realize that his absence might potentially cast a pall over Gladstone's victory (as I imagine she would be shouting out DiCaprio and Scorsese like she did at the Globes). He didn't show up for Don't Look Up but that movie wasn't ever in win-contention for anything, especially for an acting prize for a historically under-represented group of people.

Yeah, I just mean, I think he has the same "no nomination, no show" attitude about it. I don't believe he would worry about it looking like a dick move because he has the "Currently filming a movie with Paul Thomas Anderson," to fall back on. I agree with you. He would work out the scheduling to be there if he got in.

Skipping it would be an alpha move, but Gladstone will probably guilt him into showing up. Classy as always

I'm just saying I can imagine them texting each other and Leo's like "Lily, I'm really happy for you but I'm going to feel really awkward sitting in that room under these circumstances; I'll come to all the parties afterward and we'll celebrate" and she texts back "Bitch, come to the ceremony, I want you there to share the glory with me if I win".

DiCaprio's production company also produced Killers Of The Flower Moon despite him not getting a personal producing nomination. This time he's more than the headliner. I think it'd be a very bad look for him to skip for that reason alone. He's one of the leaders of the project, and in this scenario he should be showing up to support the entire team. I have no problem with him skipping the Oscars for Titanic. He was just a work-for-hire actor on that. He didn't need to be there if he wasn't nominated. He can't brush off Killers Of The Flower Moon as a work-for-hire gig. His company developed and produced the film.

Either way it has to hurt for any actor when your co-stars get recognised but you don't when you were really active in the project. I mean the whole script was rewritten because he wanted to play Ernest.

Once again, he won't show up.
He's deep in shooting the new PTA film as we are speaking.
