Terence Davies died today. RIP to a great, great filmmaker. Benediction is a beautiful final film from him - anyone who hasn't seen it yet ought to check it out.

RIP
I always think of The Long Day Closes with Davies and what an overwhelming stylistic experience it is on a big screen (and it can trigger your own memories).......people who have never seen a Davies film can be awestruck by him.......he always had a great understanding of film composition.....color.......movement........shadows and light

RIP.
Very much enjoyed the path his filmography was taking in the previous decade, particuarly the biopics, incredibly witty that I wish to immortalize some of the dialogue in my brain.

Goddamn. And he was just beginning to develop a new project after The Post Office Girl fell through... Goodbye to a master.

Damn. One of the great British movie artists. What a career. When he was on, not many made work with more soul.

shocking and tragic loss, but he left behind so many beautiful films to cherish. Benediction might've been my very favorite. RIP

Sad to read about, especially because I think Benediction might be his best film. RIP!
