...if any? I spent the vast majority of the time on Movie Awards/Oscar Buzz, but I would often visit individual film boards right after watching something for the first time. Every once in a while, I would hop over to Film General... but then I would be reminded why I didn’t go there more often in the first place... Outside the film-specific boards, I would occasionally visit the classical music board and post there, though it didn’t get much traffic. Once in a blue moon, I would check out the Soapbox just for the lulz... What about you?

Um, the Music Board obviously - a lot of my je ne ce quoi (um, stfu) comes from those legendary IMDB posts tbh - Viced knew what was up back then ffs God Bless Him ......... hey - how about that Tim - Let It Bleed box set pal - what more could you possibly want ya greedy bastard? Still my favorite posts ever on MAR about me - I actually came back because of these posts so you can thank / curse these two jokers for all my bullshit the last 6 years ********************** Feb 19, 2017 at 10:29pm The_Cake_of_Roth said:
Same. Always loved reading his thoughts, even when I disagreed with him, which was rare because he was usually very persuasive haha. If I saw that he had posted in a thread that interested me, I would literally drop what I was doing at the moment to read it. Great writer, great taste, and a bottomless well of film-related knowledge. I found his taste in music kind of narrow, but anytime he recommended a film, I would immediately put it on my queue. Invaluable poster, truly going to miss the guy. I never got to hear his thoughts on Interstellar and that was the only Nolan film he hadn't seen yet...

Not saying that the music he liked was bad on its own (on the contrary, he actually turned me on to some bands), just that I found his reasoning for disliking certain music kind of odd. He had a very specific, personal definition of what rock n' roll was, and that's fine for him I guess, but kind of limiting.

I actually didn't frequent the Movie Awards board much back in the IMDB days, I mostly visited Film General. There were some really interesting movie discussions there.

The Game of Thrones board. If you know, you know. I am proud to have played my part contributing to the cesspool.

I mainly used Film General, and only ever rarely used MA. I came over here after the boards finished because the Film General subreddit was a terrible substitute for discussion comparatively.
I was also a frequenter on the GoT and TWD boards, purely for toxic e-drama lmao. It's hard to explain to people who weren't there how crazy some of the shit was, like trolling taken to some Picasso level of art. Also used politics but it was garbage.

I spent a lot of time on TWD board too contributing to the toxicity there but pretty much stopped visiting once the show became unwatchable. Towards the end I was just visiting on the nights a new episode was premiering to leave “OMG RIP DARYL” posts and other nonsense

someone should start a support group for former GoT board members. I was there for a couple years because it seemed the best place to discuss what at that time was still a phenomenal show. Really toxic place, and I kept coming back like a battered girlfriend Found MAR and it seemed a lot more chill (besides Dexter haha) so I stayed. Liked the general movie-talk and polls and lineups. Also this was around Got S7 was coming out so the show had already turned to shit by then.

The individual boards of a certain movie, I liked to go through them particularly right after I watched the movie. There was always a thread about that one minimal detail that someone else already brought up to conversation and had been discussed from different angles... that's what I really missed from imdb

I was semi-active on Film General for maybe a year before the boards shut down. I started posting a lot more here than I ever did on IMDb.
I also tried IMDb v2 for a little while, but stopped. Anyone here have an account there, or even still post there? Just curious...
