Like a "that's literally me" thing... but you know, serious. Aspects of similarity could be physical, psychological, behavioral or spiritual... major point if it's all of those, though I think that one's super rare. I myself don't have a definite answer but recently found major parts of me similar to Ethan Hawke from Reality Bites... though I'm considerably more "aware" of other people's attitude so I watch my tongue more... maybe I should change it to Hawke from Before Sunrise? His post-college concerns play a big role though...

I'm like a weird, pathetic mixture of Kendall Roy and Reynolds Woodcock.

Jean in Happy Old Year, who resonates as a selfish tyrant that wants to believe that she's a good person, pushing away all evidence that she is a devouring monster. Sumida in Himizu, whose deep hatred of humanity is really a self-loathing that he has directed outwards to people that he deems unworthy of life. Mizore from Liz and the Blue Bird, for her intense social awkwardness and fear of moving forward. Aydin in Winter Sleep, whose stuck-up, arrogant attitude is his key defining trait.

Not sure what you mean by "real life" in "real life" there is no one quite like me - my Mom told me I'm "special", ok? Geesh I have the complex and sinister rationality mixed with the fearful gravitas of Keyser Soze, the highly unlikely sexual allure of the John Leslie porn film from the early 80s - It's Called Muder Baby - as the Nick Popodopolis detective character - the one private dick who actually uses his.....oh nevermind.......the fanatical religious zeal of Carrie's mother - Margaret White - ever see me talk Biblical subtext in a film thread? Pfffft.........the utterly unpleasant Johnny from Naked maybe......we both have a pretty sharp tongue and can really lash out tbh....... Maybe if people met me they'd say the John Cusack character in High Fidelity - Rob Gordon ...who seems like a normal, pleasant fellow, and who talks music a lot but is possibly a deceptive sociopath ......but the harmless kind I mean.......

I don't know if we've ever talked about Death Note? Your two first mentions reminded me of Light Yagami

Sumida in Himizu, whose deep hatred of humanity is really a self-loathing that he has directed outwards to people that he deems unworthy of life. I don't know if we've ever talked about Death Note? Your two first mentions reminded me of Light Yagami I think we have a little. In short: I think the show is a lot of fun, but not as smart as it thinks it is. And it makes a *critical* mistake at that one point: L's death.
This stops the narrative in its tracks and forces the story to slowly - SLOOOOOOWLY - build back up to speed. It's the sort of thing that hurts A Song of Ice and Fire, as anybody can die in that series without warning, but then the writer has to introduce new characters and lands to patch up the unresolved plot threads, because nobody was waiting in the wings to pick up in case of a major character death. Plot armor exists for a reason. If you're going to remove it, you *need* characters who can work in proximity to someone else and have similar information/power to the dead person. (I rant about Arcane a lot, and I'll do it again because it is a goddamn brilliant show. Its 1st season ending leaves several characters with unclear fates, but *ALL* of them have somebody close to them that can pick up their narrative threads : one character has an ideological enemy and close friend that could be shaken and pick up the plot thread if character A dies. Another two characters of uncertain fate are good friends who have been drifting apart in political beliefs, and removing either one could have radical effects on the narrative moving forward.) Death Note cripples itself with that twist because it stops the forward momentum of the story, and the writer didn't seem to have any plans to mitigate that damage.

It's really just the one aspect, but Carrey's line in ESOTSM about "why do I always fall for the first girl that gives me the slightest bit of attention", is way too close to home.

Not a movie character, but I’m a lot like Doug from Nickelodeon’s Doug in that we share similar neuroses and daydreaming tendencies. Also, Gabe from Eighth Grade:

Best I can think of at this time is Sean (Robin Williams) in Good Will Hunting given my work, particularly the use of humor in session and also including some of the risk-averse to a fault inclinations (though I'm growing out of that). Never choked a client, though, I leave that sort of thing for after hours. I can also get some elements of Frank Abagnale (Leonardo DiCaprio) in Catch Me If You Can as far as making things up as I go along and flying by the seat of my pants with some imposter syndrome elements (definitely taken influence from James Bond). Not to mention I'd definitely fall head over heels for candy striper Amy Adams. I also have some elements of Jesse (Ethan Hawke) in Before Sunrise. The kind of unabashed romanticism and love for conversational connection (I'm a 21 questions kinda guy). But I never carried the elements of cynicism that defined the '90s and Ethan Hawke's screen persona specifically at that time, even in the more muted "this guy is clearly trying to shield himself" way it is in Jesse.

For some aspects, Scarlett O'Hara in GWTW.

And yeah, it seems Hawke is one of the rare ones who speak to and for our generation... weird, cause he wouldn't be my go-to actor at first glance, but I am appreciating him more with each passing year.

Martin from Another Round - fairly lowkey history teacher, takes part in the sort of dumbass experiment I would come up with.

I hate to make this a “Ryan Gosling is literally me” thing but this is the line of work I’m in And if La La Land was about rock music instead of jazz then the whole thing would just be frightening to me

Absolutely DeNiro in Heat.
I'm like the coldest guy you'll meet at first. It doesn't mean I'm not friendly, I just don't like mincing dumb words and putting up a charade of niceties. Also, like DeNiro..... I'm so big picture oriented I often ignore the little things that build up to that big picture.... which might've been DeNiro's downfall.
Like DeNiro, I'd like to wait for a woman to come to me before I go to her. I'm just so lazy to devote time to searching for someone to date. I guess I see a big picture in all this so I avoid the little things like going out and having fun.........kinda exactly what DeNiro sees. He sees his big picture... his ultimate getaway after his ultimate crime. I'm not saying my ultimate ambition is criminally oriented, but I have a sort of big picture goal I'm trying to reach and I'm spending pretty much all my time trying to reach that goal so I'll put aside the silly little things for now.
As for a female choice..... to get in touch with my feminine side, I'd say Anastasia Steele in 50 Shades of Grey.

There's nothing 1 for 1 that matches with me but off the top of my head I think Jeffrey from Blue Velvet and Charley Brewster from Fright Night are both close to me, though I think I have a better sense of humor than they do. And maybe in a few years I'll turn into Ray from The 'Burbs
