The Killer, Ferrari, and Maestro... which are also among my top 5 most anticipated films for the rest of the year in general along with KOTFM and The Holdovers.

Hamaguchi (106 minutes, wow. What happened?) and Lanthimos were my one and two. Tough call between Mann and Coppola for third, but I went with the former because who knows how many more there'll be.

number one is Lanthimos without a doubt, then El Conde (the more I read/heard about it the more I want to see it) and given the recent teaser, The Killer.
Btw I'm curious to see how all these Venice premieres are going to play out, obviously all have hype behind but all of them being presented together in one week period... kinda tacky, cheapens the exclusivity of getting highy anticipated movies/filmmakers. Also, I wanna see how the lesser names (if there's any) in competition are gonna play within a sea of royalty... hmmmm... that's why i prefer cannes btw.

Well..... 8 months later and I think we know how things turned out.
Lanthimos ended up laying waste to Fincher despite people guessing in September '23 that it could go either way between the 2 of them.
