I'll say when no one is watching but I got thrown around pretty good on the floor of The Bobby Lees concert and plenty of people were watching........weddings, sure...... True story: When I was a senior ih high school (Class of 1862) we had to take a square dancing class - as part of gym (wtf?) - and the girls were on 1 side of the room and the boys on the other and the gym teacher said " now, don't be shy fellas, the girls won't bite and ladies the boys won't be too clumsy"More than half of that class had dated - and had some degree of sexual contact - and both of those statements ^ were fncking lies

I'd love to - there are three dance studios within walking distance of my home, which is weird for such a podunk town of white rednecks (also weird that there are actual *quality* Japanese and Thai restaurants run by the only Asian people in the county) - but I don't have occasion for it. I'm terrified of social interaction, so dancing would be quite pointless.

Some may find it pointless and goofy (or alarmingly flamboyant) but as days pass, I personally am getting more and more convinced that it's such an accessible, gymnastic and exhilarating way to express the shit (or joy dammit!) life throws on one to drain them daily...

Some of the things you say genuinely surprise me (though I have a feeling you get that a lot around here lol) - they're so much different with the persona of you we see on this board; which is usually contrarian, outspoken and interestingly excited about your favorite things (like Anime series es and videogames)… and you can always (try to, or better, learn to) do it on your own [*edit: case in point your response above ].

I know that when I post here, I can (a.) write out my thoughts and try to make sense of them, which isn't always an option in real time, and (b.) the anonymity of the platform means that I can avoid unpleasant questions that everyone I know irl try to force on me in one way or another. It's safer not to speak, or to only reply in monosyllables if I do get cornered. This is the only space I have in which I *can* speak or "be myself" without being on guard. (Which can get me into trouble - I'm heavily cringing at a recent post of mine I want to delete but feel it would be dishonest to do so.) Edit: And if I'm alone, I do silly dances sometimes, ya. It's a great way to just let things go for a bit. Mostly I just b-ounce (can the mods change the emote to : : in brackets? Not a priority, I just noticed this) up and down and wave my head around like a moron, but it's fun so long as I don't look in a mirror

Okay, I have a story. Some years back, I was going to watch a play in Washington D.C. with my mom. Our Metro exit was Verizon Center, which was packed for a sporting event that day. We had done this plenty of times, so we knew an alternate way out where we wouldn't have to worry about getting jostled by crowds: the handicap accessible elevators. (My mom was around 70, we knew from experience it was difficult for her.) We get on the elevator with a bunch of black kids who are doing an impromptu rap the whole time and dancing in the elevator. Me, being a quiet white boy, I'm just staring at a wall and counting the seconds until I can be anonymous again.
My nearly 70 year old mother begins busting moves (which weren't bad, I've gotta say) and the kids are rapping and laughing their asses off, and... I admired it. I did not join in. I couldn't have, I felt self-conscious enough just being there. But it was super cool to see.

It does bring people closer together (and usually effortlessly), yeah.

Mostly just when I'm being goofy around my wife... which is like 90% of the time when I'm at home.
Clubs haven't ever really been my scene, but I did go swing dancing one time in high school and that was pretty fun... even just sitting around watching the people who are really good at it is fun.

All the time. I think every other day at least. I'm usually at home. Last time in public, I was at casino in Palm springs and this guy watched me dance for an entire hour. Haha.

Almost never. And when I do, I always feel like an idiot and proceed to act accordingly. So yeah, if I happen to dance, I dance stupid. Hey, at least the spectators are laughing! Last time I danced "seriously" was... fuck, probably when I was in school Ah, those were the days - slow dancing with the girls, trying to gradually lower my hand below their waists, confessing my feelings for some of them, getting rejected... beautiful times.
