I could use a rewatch of The Big Sleep because I never get that movie and I've tried and give up.......I find it impenetrable and it's totally my genre and one of my favorite actors ffs Sigh  |

The Godfather Heat From Here to Eternity (esp. as it didn't really have an impact on me the first time) From what I remember (aside from the amazing acting across the board), how it romanticized an affair between Lancaster and a married Kerr came off as odd  Could the bigger fans of the film tell me if I'm missing much else? |

It was temporarily a pleasurable read (the lead character is so much fun) but yeah, too twisted maybe, to leave a lasting impression... The Big Lebowski seems like a distant adaptation, and overall a more fun experience all things considered. |

My goal is to do a big '70s Coppola blowout weekend with Patton (he wrote it so I'm counting it), The Godfather duology, The Conversation and one of the myriad cuts of Apocalypse Now... but I do want to do it leading up to Megalopolis.

It's gonna be a double Haneke night for me. La Pianiste and Cache.
The Big Sleep is objectively a great movie, but it's just extremely hard to understand. I feel like most people who didn't get anything out of it felt that. As did I.
I dig all the major Bogart classics tho. Casablanca, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, In a Lonely Place, The African Queen, Key Largo, and Desperate Hours would be leading the pack for me.

I've been planning to rewatch the 1982 Indian Cult Classic Disco Dancer since I saw a Russian, Hitman looking dude, playing the Jimmy song loudly in his BMW car on a supermarket's parking last week, I was amazed, it's been over 25 years that this song didn't reach my ears. Didn't found the time yet, so I'm just annoying people around me 'singing' the song for now.
