Considering the circumstances right now, both movies are sort of overperform, but Flash with that expected deadly drop.

What a disaster The Flash turned out to be.

Pretty good for Asteroid City. Was a little worried because the marketing didn't seem to be emphasizing Johansson and Hanks a lot which I didn't think was a good call. I'm excited about seeing Jason Schwartzman in a lead role but I'm in a small minority there and I think most people would rather see them. I guess Wes has slowly built a brand for himself with his Gen X and Millennial fanbase and then some Zoomers getting into him from Grand Budapest.

Pretty weak weekend overall in terms of big grossers, but some nice holds (Flash disaster aside), and both of the openers No Hold Feelings, and Asteroid City did well given the circumstances.

Question for you. NHF grossed about 15 mill this weekend. Is that good or bad for a comedy. We unfortunately have seen the comedy genre very flat since streaming dominated the world.

That's a real shame. I always thought comedies were best, when you're with a group of people. Why do you think people don't want to go to the theater and laugh together anymore?

Essentially it's because they can do it for free at home. Comedy just doesn't have that wow factor like say a big blockbuster would.
