the supporting races are always more exciting because they're so wide open and there's always surprises.
went a little rogue with my last couple spots
1. Williams 2. Goldstein 3. Winkler 4. Carrigan 5. Ford 6. Shalhoub 7. Perfetti 8. Dunster
I've been predicting Perfetti for weeks. I feel in my gut Abbott gets the same treatment as Lasso last year. Both had a lot of Emmy success for their first seasons but Lasso seriously overperformed with acting nods for S2. If that happens this year for Abbott, Perfetti and Lisa Ann Walter will be the ones to benefit. And I threw in Dunster because he's like the *only* Lasso main that hasn't gotten an Emmy nod yet and this might be their last chance. Mohammed and Jimoh are obvious threats but they already got their noms.
And then obviously Bowen Yang but SNL underperformed last year so I'm not predicting Yang or Cecily Strong this year. And my gut says Moss-Bachrach gets snubbed again because didn't he miss all the precursors? I was predicting him for the GG nod and he missed that. Sure 8 spots is better odds but given how great he was in the show relative to how weak his awards trajectory has been so far I just feel like we're in for some disappointment there. Plus they'll have plenty more opportunities to nominate him and in less crowded fields. Shalhoub and the Barry and Lasso boys aren't coming back next cycle...

Have some fun. Roll the dice. As far as I can see, you can pretty much bank on, Goldstein, Carrigan, Winkler, Williams (Globe win was huge) and Shalhoub in there. Ford is quite good in Shrinking (a show I highly recommend), and probably delivers some of his best work since the 80s and early 90s. It would be really sad to see him miss. For the last two, I have to go with Mohammed and Dunster -- their characters go through an gigantic growth arch. Perfetti and Moss-Bachrach come really really close, but I just have a feeling Emmy voters are going to go crazy for Ted Lasso, particularly for the last couple of episodes.

Remember, there's only 7 nominees. Really? They had 8 nominees in 2021 and 2022. I went by Goldderby's number count , which had it at 8 slots. Variety has 8 predicted for Supporting Actress
As far as I know: 8 nominees for Comedy Series, Drama Series, and 6 Actor/Actress in Comedy Series/Drama Series. 8 for Supporting Actor/Actress in the Comedy and Drama series. Limited Series has 5 nominees.
Please let me know, if Gold Derby and Variety are wrong.

Those are just the defaults, before we officially know. As mentioned earlier, it is now all to do with how many submissions there actually are. This is what the submissions revealed yesterday, per Gold Derby's Riley Chow:

Here are my predictions in order:
1. Brett Goldstein 2. Barry Carrigan 3. Tony Shalhoub 4. Tyler Williams 5. Henry Winkler 6. Harrison Ford 7. Nick Mohammed
The first five feel like "sure things". I am totally biased toward Shrinking - I think he delivers some of his best work here. For the last spot, it comes to which Lasso boy -- Nick Mohammed or Phil Dunster.

We need more votes here. I had to delete the poll due to the Comedy categories falling short with submissions.
CURRENT ODDS 1. Tyler James Williams 2. Brett Goldstein & Henry Winkler 4. Anthony Carrigan 5. Harrison Ford 6. Tony Shalhoub 7. Elon Moss-Bachrach Nick Mohammed & Phil Dunster
The odds folks seem to believe Ted Lasso will not get double nods. Season 1 they had four supporting actor nods for Goldstein, Mohammed, Hunt, and Swift. Season 2, it was Goldstein, Mohammed, and Jimoh.
