Absolutely legendary performance that rates as one of the most iconic comedic turns of the 2000s. Gruesomely funny stuff.

I can absolutely understand why Sofia Coppola chose him over Alain Delon for Louis XV now. This man was married to Geraldine Page, after all. And they lived at their estate called "Torn Page"! Have you ever seen him in Twenty-Four Hours in a Woman's Life, in which he plays Emmy-nominated Ingrid Bergman's boy toy? He was quite handsome in his youth!

I love those live-broadcast productions Ingrid did around that time - 24 Hrs, Turn of the Screw, Hedda Gabler. Rip Torn is great in this one, a savage bluffer, drawing others into his guilt game.

Can we just talk about how absolutely bonkers (but great) his name is? I mean, come on, Rip Torn? That's like a 7 layer dip of awesomeness.
