No real dog in this fight but Pryce as a theater actor is in a whole different level than Nighy in the theater - and even on film Nighy couldn't have played Something Wicked This Way Comes, Brazil or Glengarry Glen Ross I reckon
Nighy is funnier on film, looser and less uptight ........this is one of the great breakthroughs "tricks" in Shakespeare in the last 50 years acted by Pryce - won him an Olivier btw....

I don't really have any thoughts other than saying Pryce is in another league from Nighy. I'd say it's like comparing Bob DeNiro to Bob Redford.

Oh honey, Bill Nighy always seems terribly English to me but I haven't really seen much of his work and range.
Pryce seems more versatile and universal: I remember seeing him play a drug addict in what looked like an old punk movie. I really can't see Bill Nighy playing that type of role, at all.

hmmm weird question. Because Nighy in Living was genuinely great and better than anything I've seen from Pryce (including Brazil) but he wasn't even on my radar before seeing that film. I mean I guess he was fun in Love, Actually and his Davy Jones is a campy delight but I honestly feel like I haven't seen enough of either... or maybe it's that Pryce feels the same in whatever I've seen him in.
Generally indifferent to both tbh, based on what I've seen. Give me Rylance.

Haven't seen enough of Nighy (and I haven't seen Living), but from what I've seen of both, Pryce absolutely washes Nighy in range at least. Nighy seems so tamped down all the time. Pryce can do traditional drama, and then gonzo shit like his performance in Tomorrow Never Dies.
