Despite being the target of many jokes, it truly is a beautiful state. Every person I've ever met from there or while I've traveled there has been very warm and friendly, too. Share your thoughts?

Congested af, but I was born there and have a lot of family who lives there, so I've got nice memories of it and visit there from time to time. A lot of great pizza...

Good state but aesthetically it's not pretty in the center like Newark, Orange, and Jersey City. However, if you move away from that area, it becomes much more aesthetically pleasing but it's not close to being as pretty as Southern California, for instance.
I drove Lyft in New Jersey and I had mostly a positive experience there. I only drove in the winter months so I didn't get the full scope, but I imagine the amount of travelers, long rides, and the Shore packs much more densely in the summer. I like some of the topography too, it's definitely built interestingly, and there's truly some clever ways the trains and the metro goes into New York.
Since I drove Lyft there, I come across some weird, obscure areas. I would say there are some areas there that truly never leave my mind - some serious Bunuel vibes in some of the areas I get there, and I'm often like.... "you people live THERE??? Seriously?"
I also like the fact that Jersey people have pretty much their own identity, the fact that Jersey Girls (and I don't mean Ben Affleck) are spread over Southern California a lot. It's a state where you can write a novel with New Jersey as a poetic setting.
Overall, I rate it as a good state. I would rank it about middle of the pack overall based on the ones I've been to.

Lots of family in NJ - all up and down the East Coast actually - the pacinoyes clan is large......... and they're breeding - might have lost my virginity in NJ, if anybody finds it let me know, it was the week before last (um)......far prefer Southern Jersey to the rest - the thing that hurts Jersey is it doesn't have a neighborhood culture....it isn't like Philly where you are on a city block where you are totally fine (and safe)........you take one right turn and you can bump into a cousin and suddenly be the King of America.....take another turn - a wrong one - you can find dope, a hooker, a great time........ or your murder Jersey is more grey .........politically it's an f'd state of rednecks who mostly elect Democrats but secretly long for a Republican like Chris Christie to inspire them to stage a full out assault on New York one day........ I still like to swing by Collingswood for dinners......I can spend days in Princeton just walking around - and which I just listed as one of my fave movie theaters in dead center of town - I just like that cultural environment there (which Jersey doesn't have much of, at all) and I pretend to be the worlds oldest grad student.......I used to love the Princeton Record Exchange which at one time was way bigger than it is now, and way cooler....

pacinoyes - Yes, Princeton is beautiful! The governor's residence is there (named Drumthwacket), even though the capital is Trenton... Go figure. And Palmer Square is delightful - particularly during the holidays.

When I'm in Princeton - occasionally - it's not unusual to find me in the window seat of the Starbucks she walked by - on Nassau, right?- hmmmmmm and I may have been in there right around Christmas - can people just videotape you on the street now? Side note - This is so romantic and sweet when it's a female doing all of this alone - but if you had this exact same video with a guy doing it all by himself it would seem very weird and borderline creepy............hmmmmmmmm
