Here are some facts and trivia about the 2022 Emmys:
1. The White Lotus was easily the biggest winner of the night. They took home 5 Emmys for Limited Series, Supporting Actor (Barlett), Supporting Actress (Coolidge), Directing and Writing. Overall, they accumulated 10 Emmys.
2. Ted Lasso. After going 0 for 10 at the Creative Arts Emmys, the dramedy went on to win Comedy Series, Actor (Sudeikis), Supporting Actor (Goldstein) and Directing for "No Wedding in a Funeral". 4 out of the 7 major categories went to Ted Lasso.
3. Succession won a grand total of four Emmy awards. You had Casting, Drama Series, Supporting Actor (Macfadyen), and Writing for "All The Bells Say".
4. Squid Game collected 6 total Emmys. 2 of them were Prime Awards for Actor (Jung-Jae) and Directing "Red Light, Green Light".
5. Euphoria. Impressive winner. Took home 6 Emmys, including a major win for Zendaya. This was her 2nd Emmy Award for playing Rue Bennett.
6. Abbott Elementary left a strong impression. They won 3 Emmys total for Casting, Supporting Actress (Ralph) and Writing for the "Pilot" episode.
7. Other notables: Hacks won Actress (Smart) and 2 Creative Acts awards. Dopesick had two wins for Actor (Keaton) and Cinematography. The Dropout won Best Actress for Amanda Seyfried. Stranger Things went empty-handed for the Primetime Emmys, but took home 5 awards at the Creative Acts awards. Ozark won Supporting Actress for Julia Garner
8. Huge night for women and minorities. Quinta Brunson won writing in a Comedy Series. MJ Delaney won directing in a Comedy Series. South Korea via Squid Game represented Drama Actor for Lee Jung-ha and Drama Director for Hwang Dong-hyuk. Zendaya for Best Actress. Sheryl Lee Ralph for Supporting Actress.
