Go ahead and name as many as you like, but I can't think of any I enjoyed more than: Mrs. Carmody in The Mist

Lady Kaede in Ran. One of the COOLEST deaths I've ever seen in a film.

A recent one would be The Revenant, for sure. Thanks, in large part, to Hardy's brilliance, seeing John Fitzgerald come to such a brutal end was very gratifying. Every hit he takes in the fight feels earned, and the moment when Glass finally comes around full force with the hatchet and buries it in his stomach with every ounce of his body strength is immensely satisfying.

There Will Be Blood: Eli's death was shockingly, perversely cathartic. In the previous scene with adult HW we curse what a monster Daniel Plainview has become. Yet in the very next scene we are absolutely thrilled to see that monster set loose on Dano's slimy scumbag. Brilliant, unsettling stuff. Django Unchained: Calvin Candie. "Sorry, I couldn't resist." So badass. John Brittle's death was also damn cathartic to watch. Kill Bill Vol. 1: Buck. It's kind of hilarious how quickly and efficiently Tarantino introduces this repulsive individual only to immediately dispatch of him in the most brutal way possible. Reservoir Dogs: Mr. Blonde. Goodfellas: Tommy DeVito. Schindler's List: Amon Goeth Game Of Thrones: Joffrey, obviously. The Sopranos: Ralphie, by Tony's own hand. That one might take the cake.

Didn't Buck die in Vol. 2? Nah, it was definitely Vol. 1, Chapter 2: The blood-splattered BRIDE. You may be thinking of Budd .

Frank Booth in Blue Velvet Billy Loomis in Scream; same could go for his mother in Scream 2 Elle Driver in Kill Bill Vol. 2 (I felt it was implied that she dies) Stuntman Mike in Death Proof (as over the top as it is) Gaston in Beauty and the Beast (yes, I did chose a Disney film) Scar in The Lion King (another Disney death, yet so dark and satisfying)

if you thought that Scar's death was something, get a load of this from The Black Cauldron. Yes, Disney went there.

I totally forgot about The Black Cauldron. Horned King got it pretty bad.

Most gratifying in terms of how annoying or unlikable those characters were: in Fences Lisa in Six Feet Under I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of any right now. Most gratifying in terms of how spectacular or how good their deaths were shot: Most (or all) deaths in Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2 Naomi Watts in Mulholland Dr. Beatty and Dunaway in Bonnie & Clyde
