Saoirse's getting raves for this out of Sundance, drawing comparisons to Gena Rowlands's performance in A Woman Under the Influence.

I haven't been liking all this talk on here recently about Stone and other people having passed her as the "actress of the generation". Hopefully Sheeshaw puts you guys in your place with this and Blitz

Hopefully Sheeshaw puts you guys in your place with this and Blitz I love Saoirse so very much but she's got quite a ways to catch up with Emma after the last five years. But I would love for her to work with the filmmakers that Stone made her bones with. Get Ronan in an Inarritu film, or a Lanthimos. Plus I'd love to see her do a proper television foray.

Well Lanthimos is obviously not my favorite guy so I will pass on that would like to see Inarritu though. Really want to see her in a PTA movie, the kind of thing where he shapes the whole movie for her which he seems to do with his lead actors a lot. He said a lot of good things about her in Lady Bird when he was campaigning for Phantom Thread.

Imagine what this combo could do with those eyes.

Our frontrunner in 2024 / 2025........ "Ronan embodies that truth as The Outrun’s spiky, deeply vulnerable protagonist, Rona, whose troubled childhood reverberates through her adult present each time she reaches for a bottle. When she’s sober, she’s brilliant and sarcastic and utterly charming; catch her when she’s drunk, however, and you’ll discover her cruel side, the violent mask she uses to push away anyone who might try to ground her in reality. At the start of the film, which premiered Friday at the Sundance Film Festival, the character returned home to Scotland after spending 90 days in rehab—a decision she made only after a night out in London went terribly wrong"www.thedailybeast.com/obsessed/saoirse-ronan-is-already-next-years-oscar-frontrunner-for-the-outrun

I mean, to be fair, if you were a white leading lady in your 20's or 30's and saw what Cooper did for Lady Gaga and Carey Mulligan in his last two directed projects, you'd more than likely be knocking his door down trying to work with him. He directs and acts in successful Oscarbait with major leading roles for women who also get to score a tonne of nominations, alongside him. Why wouldn't Ronan or a bunch of her peers want a piece of that? Cooper is good for these actresses careers and that's all they are thinking about. Not about how uncool and unpopular Cooper currently is with Film Twitter or whatever.

Yeah, I mean, I don't think Bradley Cooper is a particularly strong filmmaker or anything, and honestly if he loses this year it will be incredibly hilarious and fascinating to see what he goes back to the drawing board to make, because with Maestro he clearly had Rami Malek's Oscar win burned into his retinas the whole way through, and if he loses to Murphy I want to see if he makes a nuclear bomb, and if he loses to Giamatti I wonder if he gets lasic surgery to give himself strabismus. Still, though, it's little wonder someone like Ronan wants to work with him, because he's (probably) two for two with his lead actresses.

Ughh, she might be thinking with her vayjay on that one. The correct answer was PTA although if she'd said one or more of the Coens I could have lived with it too.
