No Way Home had a typical Post New Year's drop, still it's done amazing business. But wow oof at The Matrix Resurrections, it's going to have a 72% drop it might be a hit on HBO Max, but it's clear theatrical it's a really big miss. Also West Side Story is holding up really well, shame it couldn't happen earlier, but it's clear WOM is strong.

Great numbers for No Way Home as usual, and it's really nice to see West Side Story holding up strong after a terrible second weekend. Chances of a Greatest Showman 2.0 run are gone but it's still shaping up to have a great post-theatrical life at least.
Resurrections is so dead though. I don't think HBO Max will be enough to make up for its absolutely disastrous theatrical run. A Matrix film making less than Jupiter Ascending and Gemini Man is embarassing.

No Way Home passes 600 million, really extraordinary run for it if I do say so myself.

HoG hasn't updated it's Global Numbers in a couple weeks - and it has now opened in Australia - so I think we'll see this around 125-130 million (?) when this gets announced this week.
Japan and South Korea still pending openings for it later this month
Theatrical Performance Domestic Box Office $49,012,236 International Box Office $64,112,000 Worldwide Box Office $113,124,236

Interesting article on studios changing plans with Omicron - particularly for Licorice Pizza (below) and Parallel Mothers. They are really being nice and accomodating to PTA w/ Licorice Pizza - they cut HoG screens for it a couple weeks back too ... deadline.com/2022/01/licorice-pizza-parallel-mothers-box-office-specialty-film-arthouse-omicron-1234903628/Paul Thomas Anderson’s Oscar-buzzy Licorice Pizza, which was released in four theaters on Thanksgiving weekend and jumped to 786 on Christmas, will remain there for the time being, putting off an expansion planned for mid-January. “We’ll stay in a tighter release pattern until the marketplace eases a little bit with Omicron. There’s no reasons to rush,” said Erik Lomis, UAR’s head of distribution. UAR is said to have already scaled back a first expansion to well over 1,000 screens that had been planned for last weekend.
The Tragedy of Macbeth: Expanded to circa 100 locations (+80 from last week) for a weekend gross of about $65K ($650 PSA) and total cume in the $250K range. On Apple TV+ Jan 14.
