I really hope Bryan Singer never directs another movie or is given a second chance in Hollywood. In 2018, I couldn't have been more repulsed that Bohemian Rhapsody was in the awards conversation that year, I think it was the year directly after the Golden Globes heavily focused on the #MeToo allegations. When they gave it Best Picture & Best Actor I was so mad on a number of levels. The normal disappointment of your "horse" in the race failing to make it to the finish line (A Star Is Born), but to lose to such a terrible film and its central cartoonish caricature of a performance. Then, I realized that awarding that horrible film at all is, on some level, rewarding Singer. The film won Best Picture. Okay. So, who directed it ( most of it. Enough to receive sole credit.)? I'm sorry, if even I know about Bryan Singer then the Hollywood Foreign Press Association had to know about it. I usually call bullshit on something that's allegedly an open secret and others accusing actors (like the Meryl Streep/Rose McGowan uproar) of "knowing" when it's quite possible they weren't told about it at all. In this case however, he had been publicly accused more than once of this type of behavior behavior. To do this the year after having a whole ceremony centered around the #MeToo movement (and TimesUp) just showed me what bullshit this whole thing all is. I think we all know that on some level of course with all the politics and what goes on behind the scenes. However, to reward a terrible film, and its terrible lead performance and for the Oscars to follow suit with various nominations (and a win for Rami Malek) just made me sick. Perhaps if that Atlantic article, which originally was going to be in Esquire in November of 2018, it wouldn't have happened at all. The Atlantic article mentioned at one point that Singer called Brad Renfro (who was all of 14-15 at the time) his "boyfriend" and throughout the article there is mention of drug fueled parties. Renfro died in 2008. I would say it's possible that Bryan Singer bears some responsibility for his death and who knows how many others. I hope that he never shows his face again but memory has a tendency fade. Hell, Polanski won an Oscar in 2001 even after admitting to drugging and raping 13 year old girl in the 70s. Yet, they expelled him after the early #MeToo accusations were flying around if I remember right. So, despite giving him an Oscar after knowing full well what he was tells me this expulsion was bullshit and an empty, public relations exercise. Nothing more. So who knows what the future holds for all of these people who we've seen exposed.

Bryan obviously has the goods on several people because I don't understand how he's not in jail right now.
