Seems reasonable enough for Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Could make over 40m this weekend, which would be a bit of a minor win since it has Thanksgiving to help it, and the budget is only 75m.

Perfectly fine for Ghostbusters, but as for King Richard, looks like it's another victim of HBO Max.

I was really hoping that King Richard would break the "mid-budget adult-oriented films flopping in the pandemic" curse, but alas, it failed. House of Gucci and West Side Story have to pick up the slack now (The King's Man too, but that's way more action-oriented and thus an easier sell).

I went to AMC’s House of Gucci “investor” thing on Thursday, but they canceled it after 40 minutes of waiting because of projection issues. Going by that though, I think the Little Monsters will be out in full force opening weekend because it was packed for a Thursday night, and I heard other showings were the same. I expect it will have a huge drop after that, but hopefully a good opening weekend will help it stand out from the other adult dramas. I could be worrying for nothing, but I’m wondering if West Side Story could be another one to fall victim to the pandemic curse. It’s hard to gauge for me because movies aimed at kids are still doing well, so this could conceivably be a big movie for families. On the other hand, I don’t see parents taking young kids to it. Unfortunately I also don’t see many older kids wanting to see it despite the young cast, and of course older audiences that know the 1961 version will probably still stay away like they mostly have been doing because of COVID.

West Side Story's box office is gonna be an interesting one. On the one hand it's Spielberg whose lowest grossing movie is adjusted or otherwise is still his first film, but also it feels like the marketing is trying to downplay things. On the other hand, it’s based one of the best knows musicals ever made, but also a lot of people have compared it unfairly to the original and have even asked why it needs to be made in the first place. Will reviews be good enough for it to withstand the dearth of older adult skewing films at the box office, or is this a disaster in the making? I genuinely don't know; I just hope it somehow does well. Theaters really need something like it right now.

Surprisingly strong Saturday increase for Ghostbusters, could indicate positive word-of-mouth in the coming weeks. Also congrats to No Time To Die on being the highest grossing film worldwide of 2021

MGM has been smart in regards to the Bond release. They were the first to delay a movie during the early days of the pandemic and knew when to release it.
