Oh honeys, I just wanted to clarify as I know most of you will be wondering but naturally Time asked me first, but unfortunately due to an important scheduling conflict I was unavailable as I was out drinking tequila... passed out... but anyway...
Who would have thought that Kate Winslet is one of the 100 most influential people in the world?!
After her very well deserved Emmy win, it's clear that 2021 is the year of Kate Winslet. All hail the new queen of television (Nicole must be eating her wigs).

So glad she was able to come back from the 3rd spot and overtake Michaela Coel who won a precursor don'tchaknow - really unexpected win. Sarcasm ........

I love Nicole Kidman but that made me almost spit out my water. Anyways, Kate the Great Winslet has been my favorite actress for a very long time now (probably since seeing her in Titanic ) She was also brilliant on HBO's Mare of Easttown (well deserved Emmy win!) I've mentioned it on here a number of times but I'm so happy she re teamed with James Cameron for Avatar 2. No clue what her role is in it but here is a pic that went viral awhile back of Winslet filming some underwater scene. Kate Winslet told Entertainment Tonight this week she’s “very proud” to have beaten Tom Cruise’s record for the longest underwater breath hold in a feature film. Tom Cruise held his breath underwater for six minutes while filming “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation,” but Winslet beat him by over a minute, holding her breath for seven minutes and 14 seconds while filming an underwater scene for James Cameron’s “Avatar 2.” www.indiewire.com/2020/11/kate-winslet-beat-tom-cruise-underwater-record-avatar-2-1234598694/#! that is insanely impressive. No way could my stoner ass come close to that. Can't wait to see her in Avatar 2 (it seems like I've been waiting 84 years for that sequel lol)

She fell off pretty hard in the last decade, but her work in Mare is career-best and if she continues down that path, I'll happily revise my stance on her.

Her, Blanchett, Kidman, Moore... it has to be a generational thing but I like my 90s women like no other.

Now that she won another Emmy, i hope she also gets another Oscar in the near future.

Now that she won another Emmy, i hope she also gets another Oscar in the near future. That would be an even more rare accomplishment - if she can win a 2nd Oscar in Lead Off the top of my head only Streep has pulled off multiple Lead Oscar wins (3 - but 2 in Lead) and Lead Emmy wins (2) - (Miniseries/Movie)....... Ingrid Bergman did it also with the same numbers as Streep..... Hopkins has that for males

Interestingly, when I think of my favourites, she doesn't usually factor in. That's sort of crazy really, as I don't think I've ever disliked her in anything, and I've often loved her.
I guess her more recent decade in terms of film and television hasn't been something that fills me with interest and prior to this year a lot of my favourite performances from her in films I enjoyed were pre-2011.
I think its safe to say that any conversation about the best actors who started to make a name for themselves in the 90's can't in any seriousness be had without her name involved.

Damn, who would have thought? I haven't seen her in anything in a long, long time but I used to rush to see anything Kate Winslet in my younger years. So is she getting the most shine post-Titanic or something? Because this is huge...

That's a tall order for her to achieve because she's has been so great in many things since day one. I stopped following her in the last decade. Bad fan I am.

I don’t know why she doesn’t do theater, she would be a good stage actress.

75% for reviews for Lee on RT off of 8 reviews - quite divisive for the reviews not posted here.....Winslet seems to be great-ish though www.rottentomatoes.com/m/lee
