Are you a fan of her work? Do you have a favorite poem? She is such a fascinating character to me...

Right up there with Basho and Buson among the greatest poets.
I, uh, haven't read many poets...

A bird came down the walk: He did not know I saw; He bit an angle-worm in halves And ate the fellow, raw.

You guys might find this bit of trivia interesting: Jane Campion's The Piano was inspired by the poetry of Emily Dickinson.

Oh honeys, didn't she write 'Hope is the thing with feathers'... as she made her way to KFC?

Mattsby - Oh yes, I love her sense of humor. I took a course in college dedicated entirely to Dickinson, so I think I've probably read just about everything. I've seen and liked both A Quiet Passion and Wild Nights with Emily - I think I'm going to have to start the Apple+ series with Hailee Steinfeld soon, as well. Did you know that Dickinson inspired Campion's screenplay for The Piano?

Glenn Close reading Emily Dickinson is the most quintessentially New England thing ever.
