Oh wow, I didn't even notice that this starts back up tomorrow!
Also, Bill Burr was asked to reprise his role for the season but had to back out because of a death in the family. Hopefully he'll get in Season 6.

Had to pause it because this was the best B&W opener the series has had.

Awesome opener. Stick the landing and this thing is going to sail past Breaking Bad. Seems forever ago we laughed at the idea of it because it sounded like a fucking joke

First two episodes are so great. I'm hoping with the Game of Thrones ladies out of contention, Rhea Seehorn can finally get some overdue attention.

Love how even more centre shifted Kim is this season. If she can't get some love this time around... It will be criminal. Everything is moving into place very nicely for epic fucking blowoffs.

Rhea Seehorn would be perfect as Elena in Uncharted. Facts.

I mean the lady who plays Kim is okay and all, but she's no Anna Gunn.

I'm not sure if it's "prestige TV" in general I'm sick of or if it's the Gilligan style specifically, but I watched the first two episodes of the new season and a lot like the previous season I'm just not feeling it all. Will probably keep catching up on the season because word has been so encouraging, but there's nothing interesting about it for me.

Jeez, I didn't think they could top the ice cream cone on the sidewalk shot at the end of ep. 2 -- and they open ep. 3 with that fucking shot of the CGI ants!! Are you fucking serious?? I'm sorry but that's just self-parody at that point.
Thankfully most of the rest of the episode was actually pretty solid -- still too many scenes of nothing happening (they never really know what to do with Mike, do they?) but at least I cared about Nacho/Lalo for once and the Kim stuff was pretty great.

Hey! For what it’s worth, I thought ep. 4 was easily the best yet ... first big laugh of the season with Jimmy’s fake defendant scheme in the courtroom, genuinely funny Hank/Gomie banter (according to Merriam-Webster, the origin of “culvert” is actually unknown!), the return of Lyle being a meme. Could’ve gone without Jimmy wrecking Hamlin’s car (we’ve seen it before) — the character just needs to be gone at this point — and I still don’t like anything surrounding Mike. Seehorn continues to carry the fuck out of the show, but at least in these last couple episodes it seems like the showrunners are starting to become aware of that.

Finished catching up, including this week's episode. I'm obviously not as head-over-heels about this season as a lot of people but I did think eps. 6 & 7 were pretty incredible and I'm definitely into it now. I thought the Acker storyline got dragged out waaay too long but it had a pretty spectacular payoff. Seehorn has reached new heights this season and I can't sing her praises enough. Odenkirk has been great too and Jimmy's outburst at the end of ep. 7 was Walter-esque to me, especially when he says Howard's job offer "amused" him -- just that wording and that delivery evoked Cranston so much to me. Also interesting that the final shot of that episode is Jimmy disappearing back into the out-of-focus courthouse which mirrors the first (post-cold open) shot of the season where it was Kim emerging from the same shot ...
Still not perfect to me but I'm definitely digging it and eager for the last three episodes.
(Also I totally called the "Just Make Money" thing ... that was my first thought as soon as the first time Jimmy lied about JMM being his motto. Not sure if that means the set-up was obvious or if that was just my cynically-wired brain ... lol)
