Still holds up doesn't it? Masterpiece. I actually watched it for the first time today. I know I have committed a sin by not watching it earlier. And yeah, it's superb.

The Verdict (1982) rewatch 9/10. "It's a long road that has no turning."

Finally watched this to honor Olivia de Havilland. Remarkable performance from her (nearly on the level of The Heiress). Exhaustive study of mental illness, institutions, and eventually... recovery. A bit too exhaustive for me personally, but quite solid and well made overall.

Halloween - still one of the best horror films... especially given when it came out and the entire genre it basically spawned in one way or another. ALSO, man, I forget every time what happens in the first half mostly because I've really only seen this 100% once... 15 years ago.
Sicario - "You're asking me how a watch works. For now we'll just keep an eye on the time." Man, how have I not gone gaga over that line in the past? Shame this came out in one of my favorite years ever... because it would potentially be up for wayyyyyy more Fish awards.

What did you think of A Silent Voice? Was a bit disappointed in contrast to have much I was loving the first hour. It presents a really interesting perspective of bullying cause and effect but it started to drag a lot towards the end. Shoko was the most interesting character to me and she gets lost in the shuffle of all the secondary characters. Really got the sense that this should've been her story and not Shoya's. I still liked it but I wish the final act had been tightened up a bit. I felt like the movie had ended 15-20 minutes before it actually did.

Schindler's List (Finally) and Children of Men are two of the greatest movies I've seen last week that I'll doubt I'll ever watch. Such a realistic portrayal of unflinching brutality with a tinge of hope in the end. Loved it. Probably the directors' best that I've seen so far.
