I don't mean your first favorite actress when you started to watch Citizen Kane or Sunset Blvd. or those.
I meant your favorite when you were still a weee kid with no regard for anything other than what catches your eye, and who you just like for any reason.
My first 3 favorite actresses in 1999-2003 were Kate Beckinsale, Kirsten Dunst, and Katie Holmes. Underworld, Brokedown Palace, Spider Man, Bring It On, and Dawson's Creek were the movies/shows that sold me on them. In 2000, I was only interested in The Gift for Katie's breasts. Later did I start to evaluate it based on the other aspects. If that counts.
Also, I was already a cinephile in 2003 when The OC premiered, but I remembered taking a really deep liking to Mischa Barton. She seemed so... perfect, or at least the way her character was portrayed.

That's a really nice list, Maria Helena. I appreciated all those girls except Mary Kate (never much took any regard to them). Julia Stiles has that ivy league look. She's the opposite of a bitch... just has that intelligent and artsy look, like she reads a lot of books.
Thoughts on Kate Bosworth and Erika Christensen, Maria Helena? They seem to be missing but it feels like they're in the same mold as the names on that list.

Same as my first crush actually - which got no comments from the obviously questionable tastes on this board - how f'd up is MAR for Godsakes ?!? Diane Lane - sexy af, AND she could act, and she seemed really different from other "teen" actresses - I liked her in every way - I couldn't believe that she went from A Little Romance with Olivier - who I already knew and idolized as a way to probably appear more adult (um) - to Ladies And Gentlemen ....The Fabulous Stains..........AND this was in my Punk Rock phase (still in that btw thanx4asking ) and I didn't think another actress could pull that off. She seemed more "authentic" She checked all the boxes in this period and even more with her Coppola work which was still to come....

Salma Hayek for sure Not only do I find her to be gorgeous looking but I always have enjoyed her in films (From Dusk Til Dawn, Fools Rush In & and of course her performance in Desperado sealed it for me)
Oh and I'll add Rachael Leigh Cook too (loved her in She's All That and Jennifer Love Hewitt in I Know What You Did Last Summer & Heartbreakers

I was super into Michelle Pfeiffer when I was younger. She was so engaging and effortlessly beautiful. I could just look at her and be content.
Also, Parenthood linkage...Martha Plimpton and Dianne Wiest. Plimpton just had this badass coolness that I enjoyed, while Wiest just emanates a level of warmth that I've never gotten from another actor.
Then, because of Buffy, Sarah Michelle Geller always rated for me.

bump
I would also like to add Christina Ricci . She is a bit older than me but I grew up watching her films and was always very impressed with her performances growing up( Addams Family, Casper, Now & Then, Sleepy Hollow and of course Buffalo '66 and Monster etc) Very very talented actress and I hope to see her in more stuff in the near future.

Amy Jo Johnson anyone?????? She probably could've played Winona Ryder's part in Heathers. if Heathers was remade in the late 90s. Power Rangers and Susie Q made her one of the most prominent teen icons from '96-'99

Wee kid without a care in the world of film? So I'm going to have to break this down with B.K. and A.K. in mind. (The K is referring to Kate Winslet who started my mature girl crossover by way of Sense and Sensibility and Titanic).
B.K., it might have been Goldie Hawn because I used to watch Overboard and her 80s comedies constantly. She was so funny and adorable. And then on the opposite end of the spectrum, there was Christina Ricci, because Wednesday Addams, duh! I saw Casper in theaters and I even got this obscure movie she made with the girl from My Girl.

ROMY. And Deneuve and Miou-Miou and few others. And like most French aged from 7 to 77 at a time, I was crazy about Michèle Mercier in her Angélique movies.
