Samuel L. Jackson, who always gave me the idea of being someone who thinks to be a better and more talented actor than he actually is.

Oh honeys, Miss Wigs & Whispering... because whatever the performance you can be guaranteed they'll be a wig and they'll be the breathy whispering...

SLightly off-topic, but while I see Anne Hathaway's limitations as an actress, I've never found her annoying. I still don't understand she usually comes up in the most annoying or hated lists on the internet (though she hasn't yet in this thread here). I've always enjoyed her perfs for what they were. Can someone here educate me exactly what is so annoying about her? I think a large part of it has to do with the earnestness that she presents herself with, which can be endearing but also grating. It was a major reason why people turned off of her the year she won her Oscar, because they thought she was forcing that persona and coming off as fake. I don't generally like Hathaway as an actress, I certainly don't like either of her Oscar nominations, but of all the complaints and criticisms one could have about her, her off-camera personality feels like they are just looking for an excuse to hate on her.

Oh honey, I've flirted with the idea of hating Hathaway (it has a nice ring to it) but my therapist says that I should just focus on Nicole...
Wasn't Anne given the finger recently for The Witches?

Wasn't Anne given the finger recently for The Witches? I actually felt so bad for her when I saw that CGI face in the trailer (I haven't watched the movie and don't think I ever will). I thought that was going to stalk her forever.

James Corden - can't believe he hasn't already been mentioned. I feel like people associate him with being a (painfully unfunny) comedian more than an actor.

I feel like people associate him with being a (painfully unfunny) comedian more than an actor. The frightening thing is he won his Best Actor Tony Award and beat out this group of actors below........ .........and PSH didn't have a Tony - he was on his THIRD nomination too (unlike the other 3). Langella PSH Lithgow James Earl Jones

I know a lot of this board loves Elisabeth Moss but everything she does just screams "I'M ACTING" to me and it's like nails on the chalkboard. There are obviously much worse actors but in terms of just getting on my nerves she's probably it. Would have agreed with Jared Leto before until he said the most important five words in the English language recently. Well, I never liked Armie Hammer for some reason but I guess that doesn't count anymore EDIT: Brie Larson which is a shame Brie Larson used to be such an engaging dramatic actress who played a wide range of characters. Now she just does her wooden tough girl schtick all the time. It's gotten boring and tedious. She was just in Just Mercy and has Lessons in Chemistry in production. Not sure I really get this take.

All these Chalamet votes He was so charming in Little Women. I can understand that his fanbots can be annoying but I've never seen him give a bad performance as such from what I've seen but that's just me.

That's because nobody regards him as a real actor Right... He's a Tony winner and a Golden Globe nominee, but nobody regards him as a real actor. Clearly , people don't give a damn.A lot of people consider him as an overrated hack with an attitide problem. Oh and just because he did a good job on stage years ago doesn't mean that he's going to be welcomed with open arms by films lovers/critics. Besides , THE PROM received mostly negative reviews so him being nominated for a GG for that film is hardly something to brag about. The members on the HFPA are on crack anyway.Even that goodawful POS of film MUSIC managed to receive 2 nods !

Christian Slater - I've only seen him in three films but he was the worst part in Interview with The Vampire and The Wife.
Matthias Schoenaerts - Had to look up his name after seeing The Old Guard. The other ones I've seen is The Drop and Red Sparrow. Probably something to do with his acting.
Nicholas Cage - Liked him all the way until I watched Adaptation. That was the most unnatural 'acting' acting I've seen for some time and it doesn't help that I have to endure two Nicholas Cages, contrasted with convincing performances from Chris Cooper and Meryl Streep.

Maybe watching Slater in "Pump Up the Volume", "Heathers" and "True Romance" may change your mind unless one of those three is the other film you've seen him in. Matthias also gives some great work in "Bullhead", "Rust and Bone" and "The Mustang".
