Anybody start this yet? I'm 5 episodes in. Writing is whip-smart and drops you right into a rarefied, high-stakes world while emphasizing the more relatable experiences within it. Some parts of the story give serious pause (the protagonist blowing open so many doors mere months into her career is a bit absurd), but it's so fast paced and slickly produced that getting invested (hah) is not a challenge. Nudity and sex scenes abound to an almost eyeroll worthy degree, but hey, it's HBO.
Update: Ok, I finished the damn thing and unfortunately it kind of falls off a cliff in the last few episodes. Shockingly unrealistic plot turns, characters that becoming increasingly unlikeable, and a general sense of "WTF is this show trying to say?". Not a bad show overall, but definitely fell short of its initial promise.

Stop halting your shows to shoehorn this crap in, it is embarrassing for everyone.

this looked interesting to me but why are the reviews so lukewarm? It's a bit soapy and trashy TBH, more than it needs to be considering the evident brainpower behind the writing. I also personally find Herrold to be a bit miscast even if she serves the part fairly well.
