I watched e1 only and was disappointed a little ......
E1 was basically like watching an episode of Dateline/48 Hours and surrounding a husband's "possible" suicide.....maybe the later episodes get better but that was sort of a bait and switch using the iconic name of the old show. Maybe later ones will be better and more dramatic - I was sort of expecting a bigger splash at the start..........and there are huge issues about one person raised in the show that were just like dropped that made it seem awfully half-assed.

If that note is some bizarre break from reality and Porter saw signs of it he should say something.

I didn’t even know I was watching the most hyped episode of the reboot and couldn’t get past the 15 minute mark. Earnest, by-the-book reformatting of a series that was so addictive precisely because it was the antithesis of that.

Well, ep 2 if the husband didn't hire someone to kill her then I would be shocked.
Ep 3 - So tragic. He had a beautiful family. I hope they find that asshole. I hate these family annihilators.

I started to watch it, but it started with the third episode? I was totally confused about the spoiler for the first episode until I realized that I watched the family annihilator one. I would watch more, but that one left me pretty down and I wasn’t sure if I should watch anymore right before I go to sleep. It might be too depressing. It was okay so far. I like that the producers have more information on Reddit and elsewhere about the cases. I do miss the narration, but I can see how difficult it probably was trying to find another Robert Stack or Dennis Farina.

For some reason since it started with episode 3, the next two were in order instead of being random. Anyhow the fourth one was okay. I felt bad, but I thought they could have dug into who the main suspects were more than just focusing on Alonzo’s family and friends. I felt it was pretty cut and dry from just the beginning that obviously it was a hate crime that had been covered up, but they never really got into who threw the party or who the other people at the party were. I guess maybe because of legal issues, but I feel the ID Channel would have done better with the material. I hope that with exposure from this program someone finally comes forward, but since I felt a lot was left out like the name of the tenants at that house, I don’t know that there needed to be a full episode devoted to this. 15 minutes into the episode I really missed the old show format in where they would focus on a serious crime like what happened to Alonzo, but also covered other mysteries, instead of just devoting 45 minutes to one story. The fifth one is my favorite so far probably because like the original show, it delves into unexplained phenomena not just unsolved crimes. They really need to include more of these type of stories next season to break up all the heaviness of the unsolved murders. ETA: Watched the sixth episode. Once again I’m infuriated by how terrible the US legal system. Not sure how Sandy is allowed to have custody of Colter after all of that. Although part of me is like, “why did Lena stay around her mother once she was an adult.” Not to victim blame, but I would have thought Lena would have tried to shield her son more if anything ever happened to her.

I'm not sure why they did it that way. The producer of the show is one of the original producers and she just wanted to give it an update. That's hard to do especially when everyone is so used to hearing Robert Stack so his famous line and look cool doing so. The mom is episode six is brutal. You're right, our legal system sucks when it comes to certain laws. I read somewhere that she had the little boy believed that she was really the mom until he was 18 and that his real mom OD. No mention of her daughter whatsoever. How sick. Lena probably thought like any other person that her mother would hurt someone else but not her.

Ep 4- Really? This town should be ashamed of themselves for keeping a secret like this. I heard they know who did it but he is affiliated with high level people that they were able to cover it up. Hopefully, this will be solved soon because someone after 16 years has to have grown a conscience.
Ep-5 - I'm sure they saw something. The lady who is 85 years old does not look like a liar. Besides, she's right, why lie now.
Ep-6 - damn shame. After this episode, I called my mom to say hello. And told her how lucky I am. The luck of the draw can be cruel.

Producers stated there was a credible sighting of Xavier in Chicago and the FBI has the photo.

Watched the first episode last night and I'm really torn about what happened to Rey Rivera. Initially,I thought for sure he'd been murdered. His friend/boss,Porter,was shady af and the fact that he lawyered up almost immediately and refused to answer any questions about Rey was a huge red flag. Then his wife found that weird note taped to his computer and it kind of changed my mind.It read like he'd had a psychotic break or something.Maybe he some kind of undiagnosed mental illness that made him paranoid?.I think it may've been suicide after all.Sad case though.

I always skip the UFO stories or at least do another activity while watching. Don't get me wrong, I do believe in the concept of aliens, but the notion these aliens are similar to Close Encounters of a Third Kind, E.T, or Plan 9 From Outer Space, I find to be rather goofy.
I do enjoy these episodes in general, even though they give me nightmares. As a kid, I use to watch the Robert Stack version.

I also watched the Robert Stack version as a kid. I think they should have gotten Dennis Haysbert as the host of show. I skip the UFO ones also. Ugh. What do you think about the latest episodes? Have any theories?

Have any theories? The two ones I have seen were the girl who got hit by the train and the Florida boat owner found dead. His boat was found deep in the Gulf of Mexico, while his body was found near the bay.
Are you referring to the Florida Boat Guy? My best description of the episode.
