'Toy Story 5' is a go, according to Bob Iger.

I'm fine with it if they choose to focus on toys other than Woody. His story should be done.

Toy Story 4 didn't need to be made and yet makes my top 10 of the year and Forky became one of the most interesting characters of the franchise...

I’m not batting an eyelid, honestly.

I would have been fine going out with 3 or 4. Hopefully they at least let Woody keep his ending from 4.
Would be cool if Christina Hendricks is back as Gabby-Gabby though.

On a more expanded note, I’m legitimately not worried. I do hope Woody gets to keep his happy ending, but Toy Story has been so consistently good up to this point, that when I saw that it was happening, I embraced it. I actually think this franchise is improved by the existence of its sequels (save for Lightyear), so if they found some more wiggle room, have at it.

Don't like the fact this feels like a top-down directive from a company that can't stand the fact they had a quarter without exponential growth so they feel they need to go back to the well. I hope that isn't the case and that if this movie does follow through to completion it's because there was an actual idea behind going back to the well again. As great as the series has been (never seen Lightyear but that's its own thing anyway), it's really hard to keep it up forever. I wouldn't expect a baseball player to hit a 5th home run in a row even if I just saw him hit 4.

I understand the skepticism, but I don’t think any of the sequels should have worked (2nd was under crunch, 3rd had a rocky studio shift, 4th was an “unnecessary” continuation), but somehow they do. Until they actually strike out, I’m pretty much trusting these movies until I die.
