Damn, The Last Black Man in San Francisco was robbed. A funny way to spell The Lighthouse. Last Black Man was my personal win for Score while The Lighthouse didn't make into that category (I'm sorry please don't hurt me). That being said, it's neat that The Lighthouse got in both of the Sound categories

Ad Astra - nothing special about the sound that I could tell Rise of Skywalker - better mixing than editing 1917 - better editing than mixing Ford v Ferrari and Lighthouse getting both - hell yes

The Last Black Man in San Francisco finally got in something! Didn't expect Booksmart to get a nomination. I'm glad that it did, though.

finally something for Black Man. Presumably its last mention (unless... cinematography? PLEASE?!?!) but I'll take what I can get. Booksmart --love it. Atlantics -- eh
This category needs to be five though, for real. Some other great debuts from last year: Les Misérables I Lost My Body Queen & Slim System Crasher Little Woods

Portrait was robbed of both Sound categories. You could watch that movie with your eyes closed, bask in the crackling of fire and crashing of waves, and have an incredible experience.

It'll be a huge shame if it doesn't.

I know but sound has gotten to hard to rank lately, there are just so many options. It's easier to default to the movies with louder and more distinctive sound fx compared to more naturalistic ambiance.
