***NOTICE***DeepArcher and Viced are taking this poll over. Send your ballots to the two of them.Another year another top-50 poll. You know the drill, but just in case you don't..... •PM Viced and DeepArcher or post in this thread your ballot with your favorite (up to, but not more) 20 films of 2019 by Sunday, June 28th @11:59pm EST (or honestly up until the presentation, but that's getting ahead of ourselves). So you have more than a month and a half month to watch, catch up, ponder, and submit your ballots. •Please, please, rank these films just for the ease of it. #1 will earn 20, #2 earns 19....and #20 will earn 1 point. If you submit less than twenty, which is encouraged if you can't fill twenty spots, then your last place vote gets one point and increases by one from there. •Feel free to vote early, you'd be able to edit you're rankings up until the voting deadline. So if you submit your ballot, but find an unexpected film that makes the cut you can change that. Or just wait, up to you. •Eligibility rules are the same as our AMARA's. Festival release dates are going to be ignored and a release within an affiliated production company's country will be acknowledged. If you need further clarification on these feel free to ask. If something doesn't qualify is voted for, I'll clarify with the voter about such concerns. •Any film released within the 2019 year is eligible, this includes TV movies, Documentaries, Shorts, etc. TV Miniseries or television shows are not eligible unless it premiered at a theater. Here are letterboxd versions of our results from past years 2018 2017 Happy voting. Post FYCs in this thread

I got cockblocked by Corona and don't have a way of viewing most of the year. All the same, FYC Transit (2019 American release, does this count?) and Toy Story 4.

I can barely come up with a top 10. 2019 was fcking horrible. yeah, I have a top 10 I'm happy with but considering I saw 100+ movies last year that's not anything to write home about. There's plenty of good shit, but hardly any great shit. Definitely not a fan of the year.

I think every single year has it's fair share of great films. It only comes down to how hard enough you're willing to look to find them. Here are some FYC's: What's that?

I just watched the trailer. I thought *I* was into weird shit. I don't know what weird shit is. I'm intrigued to find out, though. Looks like a fun sort of exaggerated treatise on how people from different prefectures (or states, if we transfer this to the U.S.) see each other. The intricacies of the humor went over my head, but I got the general idea of what the gags were doing. Not sure if I can find the whole movie English subtitled... uh, anywhere... and if it is only available via torrent, I'm still terrified of bricking my computer with a virus. But this is on my radar.

It's certainly one of the most Japanese things I have ever seen, since it's filled to the brim with Japanese pop culture referances and most of the jokes and gags are extremely local (some of them definitely flew over my head). But it's an amusingly absurd film, pretty hilarious at parts and incredibly entertaining. So it's definitely worth watching if you ever come across it.

As y'all are voting for the main AMARA event (which continue to do so), don't forget this little number! It's less fun, but an easier ballot to compile.
