I am almost done with my predictions. It'll come on Friday with explanation. There are two categories I am on the fence right now. It's Film Editing and Sound Mixing. Sound Editing is obviously going to 1917.
FILM EDITING Ford v. Ferrari - The Irishman - Jojo Rabbit - Joker - Parasite Parasite and Jojo Rabbit won the EDDIE. Ford v. Ferrari won the BAFTA. 1917 won the Critics Choice, but that wasn't nominated. Since 1999, when the ACE split their film editing category into Comedy/Musical and Drama, the ACE winner has won it 15 out of 20 times. 14 of them came from Drama. Chicago is the only one from Comedy/Musical. The BAFTA winner on the other hand, has matched 8 out of 19 times.
SOUND MIXING Ad Astra - Ford v. Ferrari - Joker - 1917 - Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Ford v. Ferrari won CAS. 1917 won the BAFTA for Sound. The CAS winner has matched 14 out of 26 times.
I mentioned these two together for a special reason: Since 2013, the Sound Mixing and Film Editing winner have gone to the same film. Since 1996, we have seen them go to the same film 16 out of 23 times.
Right now I am leaning toward Parasite winning Film Editing, and 1917 winning Sound Mixing (as well as editing). State your case.

I think 1917 & FvF will split one of the sound categories.

I'm taking the risk and say it's gonna be FvF for editing...
Mixing will go to 1917.

This is pretty tough but I think 1917 takes Sound Mixing and Ford v Ferrari takes Editing. I feel kinda confident in 1917 taking both sound awards as a part of its tech haul and yet I feel that FvF has a shot at the sounds too. As for Editing, FvF just makes so much sense as a winner here. It's like they gave it a BP nod just so they could safely give it Editing. And yeah, I know lone Editing winners are very rare but they still can happen. But Parasite sure is close.

These should be vital. If 1917 loses Sound Editing to FvF it would signal weakness especially if Parasite wins Film Editing.
If 1917 wins both Sounds and FvF wins Editing, 1917 will win BP
If 191u wins both Sounds and Parasite wins Editing it's a toss up If 1917 wins Sound Editing and FvF Mixing/Editing, the scenario is shaky but is repeated If FvF wins Sound Editing, 1917 Mixing and FvF Editing, the scenario is shaky with it leaning against 1917 If FvF wins Sound Editing, 1917 Mixing and Parasite Editing, Parasite is winning Best Picture If FvF wins Sound Editing and Mixing, Parasite Editing, 1917 is losing Best Picture If FvF wins all three, 1917 is going on the way of The Revenant and the Screenplay winner will win the Oscar for Best Picture

I'm leaning towards Ford v Ferrari taking Editing and both Sounds, Mad Max-style (except with 3 Oscars instead of 6 ).
