Is anyone surprised that DiCaprio never seems to be a factor in the top three critics awards (NY, LA and National Society). I mean he's won NBR twice and a bunch of the regional ones but never seems to have any traction with the top three and the closest he ever came was with Gilbert a Grape as runner up. Even his most acclaimed and best performances such as WOWS and The Revenant were non factors. Pitt's had a great critics run this season in the same movie.

Not surprised. He's not been an underdog post-Titanic, and critics groups are typically inclined to advocacy and politicking over pure aesthetic judgments. Same reason the Nobel committee never gave Philip Roth his award, or Pynchon, or McCarthy.
