just UNITED STATES as I've clearly put. So don't be a smart-ass and put a foreign state trying to be funny.
1. Where do you live? 2. What U.S. state would you most like to live (that isn't the one you're in)? 3. What U.S. city would you most like to live (that isn't the one you're in)? 4. What is the best U.S. city/area/landmark you ever traveled to? 5. Where in the U.S. would you most want to travel to? 6. Where in the U.S. are you completely ignorant of? (like... you don't have a clue or inkling about that place/area) 7. How many U.S. states have you been to? (just roughly estimate if you don't feel like counting) 8. Name somewhere in this country that you hate/blightens you.
1. NY, NY (ok....15 miles out, but I go there twice a week, sometimes thrice. I'm 2 miles from Staten Island.)
2. Iowa
3. Does Long Island count?
4. Umm...... I'm privy to Death Valley, the Hot Springs area in the Southwest, parts of Utah/Provo/Colorado, and I like the look of Vegas a lot and it's a pretty fun travel spot.
5. Alaska, by far.
6. Roanoke Island.... or something. I'm pretty ignorant about eastern islands/peninsulas.
7. 36
8. South Carolina. And the industrial belt. (Detroit's actually ok)

1. Where do you live? North Carolina 2. What U.S. state would you most like to live (that isn't the one you're in)? Virginia - I think it's the state most like my own. 3. What U.S. city would you most like to live (that isn't the one you're in)? Charlotte! 4. What is the best U.S. city/area/landmark you ever traveled to? New York City is my favorite place in the US to visit, but I really do believe that every state has something uniquely beautiful just to it. I love all of the New England states - we did an autumn tour one year - breathtaking. 5. Where in the U.S. would you most want to travel to? Hawaii 6. Where in the U.S. are you completely ignorant of? (like... you don't have a clue or inkling about that place/area) Hawaii and Alaska - I've been to a state in every other region of the US. 7. How many U.S. states have you been to? (just roughly estimate if you don't feel like counting) 30 8. Name somewhere in this country that you hate/blightens you. I don't really hate anywhere in the US, but of the places I've visited, I do have to say that the elderly retirees in Florida are the most unfriendly.

6. Roanoke Island.... or something. I'm pretty ignorant about eastern islands/peninsulas. It's part of the Outer Banks of NC - it's very beautiful!

1. Where do you live? Pittsburgh. Go to college in the Bronx. 2. What U.S. state would you most like to live (that isn't the one you're in)? Probably Maine. 3. What U.S. city would you most like to live (that isn't the one you're in)? Boston maybe 4. What is the best U.S. city/area/landmark you ever traveled to? idk about the "best", but I love national parks. Favorites so far have been Yellowstone, Zion, Acadia, Big Bend, & Shenandoah 5. Where in the U.S. would you most want to travel to? Alaska 6. Where in the U.S. are you completely ignorant of? (like... you don't have a clue or inkling about that place/area) Hawaii, maybe. Also never been to the west coast 7. How many U.S. states have you been to? Based on a rough count, 32 8. Name somewhere in this country that you hate/blightens you. The whole LA/California lifestyle is kinda off-putting to me. West Virginia's generally kinda depressing too, but I've grown accustomed to it

@tepebenjamin - Interesting thoughts you got. The LA lifestyle is distinct definitely, but most of the times you can't find what you're looking for, and it's far from being as excessive as portrayed. I think Hollywood definitely overdoes it big time in their films, but it's hard to find where most of that type of lifestyle is personally speaking. I think it's definitely easier to find what you're looking for in New York, but of course it's based on my experiences.
And lol at West Virginia. I can't imagine it being a very lively place. Must be lots of old buildings, some industrial landscapes and really dim skies and some pretty peevy people with their Pennsylvania attitudes. Though I heard UWV is a party scene. Though I don't remember watching them get overly excited over their sports teams on ESPN. (and I know they have some solid sports teams)
@tyler - I say Roanoke as an example. I hear people talk about the Florida Keys a lot, and Long Island gets books written on it. I don't hear a whole lot of chatter about the Maryland peninsula or all those small Virginia islands, coastal South Carolina, and etc so for the longest time I never even knew they existed. Completely missing from my mind. So that's why I'm ignorant. I've also haven't spent a whole lot of time in those areas.

urbanpatrician eh, I'm probably being unfair to California. I've never been there, and am pretty much only judging it based on how it's portrayed on TV. And West Virginia honestly isn't that bad. Some beautiful places, generally good people (although not sure what a Pennsylvania attitude is ). It's the small, presumably drug-infested towns that I find really depressing, and have had some bad experiences with. Also never been to WVU but I know a few kids that wrestle there. From what I understand, yeah it's a massive party school.

1. Where do you live? Upstate New York. 2. What U.S. state would you most like to live (that isn't the one you're in)? Of states that I'm personally familiar with, probably Massachusetts, or somewhere else in New England, Maine maybe. But I've always been interested in the West Coast. 3. What U.S. city would you most like to live (that isn't the one you're in)? NYC, probably. 4. What is the best U.S. city/area/landmark you ever traveled to? Honestly not sure off the top of my head, I haven't done much traveling, mostly due to financial constraints. I guess I'll say Boston which I've probably visited more than any other place and always love it when I go. 5. Where in the U.S. would you most want to travel to? California. (If it's just one choice -- really just anywhere out west.) 6. Where in the U.S. are you completely ignorant of? (like... you don't have a clue or inkling about that place/area) The Midwest west of the Mississippi. 7. How many U.S. states have you been to? (just roughly estimate if you don't feel like counting) ~20. Basically most of the East Coast and a few in the Midwest (Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois). 8. Name somewhere in this country that you hate/blightens you. Just one? Um ... my dad is from Indiana and whenever I have to go for a family visit, it's absolutely fucking miserable. (Indianapolis is a surprisingly nice city though, it's everywhere else that sucks.)
