1992
1. Emma Thompson, Howards End 2. Gene Hackman, Unforgiven
3. Marisa Tomei, My Cousin Vinny 4. Al Pacino, Scent of a Woman
Thompson and Hackman give two of my favorite performances of the 90s. Tomei and Pacino are fine, but both have (obviously) been so much better elsewhere... Judy Davis for Husbands and Wives and Denzel Washington in Malcolm X would have been my choices in their respective categories.

A very good bunch with Pacino comfortably ahead.
From the nominees I would choose: Denzel Washington, Mary McDonnell, Jack Nicholson, Miranda Richardson.

Not sure if you meant the Oscars in your birth year, or movies released in your year of birth. Anyway, Katherine Hepburn won in both

1987
1. Cher, Moonstruck 2. Michael Douglas, Wall Street 3. Olympia Dukakis, Moonstruck N/S: Sean Connery, The Untouchables
Not a great bunch... Cher was fine, Douglas was kind of forgettable (I'm not a fan of Wall Street). Dukakis was wonderful in Steel Magnolias, but I can't remember anything about her performance in Moonstruck. I need to rewatch that film.

1) Angelina Jolie, Girl, Interrupted 2) Hilary Swank, Boys Don't Cry 3) Kevin Spacey, American Beauty N/S: Michael Caine
Jolie and Swank are great. Spacey is good, and the only salvageable aspect of American Beauty.
