Per Wikipedia’s definition, Twin films are films with the same or very similar plot, produced or released at the same time by two different film studios. Which do you prefer?

Classic matchup. I think Armageddon is fun for what it is and I'm happy living in a world where it's in the Criterion collection. The ensemble is so good and I Don't Want to Miss a Thing is great.

Deep Impact is boring outside of the tidal wave scene.
Armageddon is loud and dumb, but it's at least fun.

Dumb and Dumber. I prefer Lloyd Christmas, aka Armageddon, but would be fine with never watching either ever again.

Didn't like Deep Impact. Armageddon for me.

I admire the hell out of Deep Impact's attempt to be a more 'serious' sort disaster movie (at least it's more serious within this comparison), but Armageddon is just one of the all time great blockbusters for me. I think it's actually a massively unappreciated movie that is right there with Titanic and probably ahead of even Independence Day in the 90s spectacular standings.

A classic battle indeed, and such an interesting case of two very specifically themed blockbusters coming out in one year. Deep Impact tries to feel like a classic 70s disaster movie with a whole big ensemble and the first half being all talk, and although I kind of appreciate what it's doing, I feel that the end result is a little bit dull. The tidal wave sequence is awesome (even if the movie's effects didn't really stand the test of time) but I wish I liked it more. Armageddon, however, is a total blast. I was fortunate to see the movie in theatres when I was like six or seven (it was like an event, the whole family went!) and it was awesome for obvious reasons. I kept watching it again and again through my childhood, and rewatching it as I matured didn't make me lose my love for it at all. It's supremely entertaining, wonderfully made, the music slaps (is that what kids say nowadays??), the humor works, the action kicks ass and the emotional pull of it is surprisingly strong. When Will Patton comes home... Anyway, it's clearly Armageddon for me here. In fact, writing this made me want to rewatch it ASAP.
