Don't act like you're too grown up for it.........or just your favorite candy bar.
I'm going with an old-school one (what did you expect?) the complicated, surprisingly affordable and hideously misleading and misnamed "100,000 Grand" bar.

I don't like (milk) chocolate very much, so that disqualifies most everything. And sweets in general aren't really my thing. But there are a few I like. Hongyuan guava candies. A hard candy that you suck on. They're one of my favorites, and the bags are VERY cheap if you buy them at an Asian grocery store. For a 12 ounce package, I can usually nab them for under three dollars. My favorite Chinese restaurant uses these instead of fortune cookies (which aren't even Chinese anyway). I recently had matcha flavored Kit Kats for the first time. They come from Japan and have no English whatsoever on the label. They were pretty awesome honestly. I've gotta try the other millions of Japanese Kit Kat flavors. Peach Mint, Sake (with actual alcohol content and a warning label! ), Strawberry Cheesecake, Mango, Soy Sauce , Ginger Ale, Apple Vinegar, Wasabi , Rum Raisin, Red Bean (I think I just heard my mom book a ticket to Japan), Roasted Tea, Purple Sweet Potato... Unfortunately, I don't think my grocery store will carry any of these. Kind of a miracle that I stumbled on the matcha Kats. As for more traditional candies, I guess I like Reese's. Pay Days good too. That's pretty much it. I can eat other candies, but I won't buy many.

I had to look that up because I didn't know the name but yes I've had those - awesome - the Greeks get so much out dessert mileage out of honey and nuts! - like several desserts are slight variations on each other but taste entirely unique

I was caramel crazy in my youth - Twix, Rolo, etc. Back when I didn't have a care-amel in the world.
Now.....anything dark chocolate, or Reese's...
speaking of which, for fun ("But no jelly!").....

I never saw these on any day other than Halloween. It was always a joy getting them. I haven’t felt so nostalgic in a long time! My mom would always just have these in a tray in our kitchen around Halloween time and through the holidays usually and I would addictively snack on them to no end. Legendary array of candy that is.

Three Musketeers for me. Honorable mentions to Twix, Crunch bars, and classic Hershey bars. I just like basic stuff like that, don't go for the fancy European chocolates and candies at all. Starbursts, with apologies to my teeth I seriously can't get Starburst anymore because I have no self control with them so I'll eat them all at once and get that awful over sugared feeling where you've got the jitters.

These things are AMAZING. Pulse Candies. It's a hard candy that you pop in your mouth and dissolve. The outside is fairly standard fruit candy, but not overwhelmingly sweet (a major problem with most candies). It's tart, a pleasant change. The more you suck on it, the more a salty, sour powder begins to come loose. And then it breaks free. The inside is a salty sort of powder that will blow your mind (and probably make you spit out the candy in surprise on your first try). I've only had a few, but when I can get around to an Asian grocery store again, I'm hunting these down. Speaking of Asian candies, I tried some more Japanese Kit Kats. The dark chocolate flavor was pretty good. The strawberry and raspberry flavors were SPECTACULAR. Would you believe that they taste like the actual fruit? Not some artificial copy, no! These taste a lot like the real thing, with hints of white chocolate, wrapped around the wafer core. The aroma stays around for days (I know this because I left some empty wrappers lying around), and it is heavenly.

I kind of love this candy now - I had it before but this is a new pandemic addiction right now.....I certainly didn't have it 1,047 days ago when this pandemic started. Chocolate, Peanut butter, Peanuts, Pretzel, and Caramel all quarantined in a single candy bar - diabolical.......

My dream was always giant or even regular sized candy bars, but that never happened. Generally though I was happy with any kind of candy as long as it wasn’t that really cheap bubblegum that lasts less than a second, and those candies in the orange and black wrappers. I even loved candy corn although now I can’t stand the taste at all. I remember more than 10 years ago, a grocery store here had bags of it marked down under a dollar, so I thought I’d grab one for nostalgia’s sake. I couldn’t even eat more than a handful because it was too sweet for me as an adult lol.

Expanded this to include both "Fave & Least Fave" this year .........basically I didn't think least fave deserved its own thread but I do like to hate on stuff because I'm funny like that and that's sort of my whole charming cranky old guy thing......oh shut up!...... .........and with that in mind.....some people really do love this stuff but file this under "I don't get it, at all" not as a kid ........or as an old dude

Licorice candies are awful. Any kind of licorice candy, be it jelly bean or Twizzler or Good 'n Plenty.
And I am now completely on board with all Asian candies being a thousand times better than anything from America. Well, Take 5s are really good as Pac pointed out, but and Jelly Belly brand jelly beans are pretty decent. Oh, and I like the gourmet $2-$8 per bar stuff, but nobody will ever give something that expensive to trick or treaters.

This may be a minority opinion but I prefer Starburst Jelly Beans over Jelly Belly - they are awfully sweet and sugary though...........usually you only see them at Easter/Halloween .......when I post on here at my most frantic/what's wrong with him?/spazz-y it's usually related to some kind of Red Bull & Starburst Jelly Bean Incident........usually reported in the hospital as "Starbursted an artery/blood vessel" thing ....... Good times........Good Times.......

But they don't have buttered popcorn or cappucino flavors, or any of the other exotic flavors that Jelly Belly does so well. On top of that, Jelly Belly nails the basic fruit flavors. So Starburst is basically matching them at their core product, but not getting the variety of stranger flavors that makes JB stand out.
