So...yeah, this comparison was inevitable. Wu was clearly on the path towards breakout success after "Fresh Off the Boat" and Crazy Rich Asians, and even though there's been a lot of negative ink spilled about her off-screen antics, I don't see any of it really hindering her career (unless she starts pissing off the wrong BTS people). Awkwafina is more of a natural comedienne but The Farewell has proven that she's got the chops to turn in fine dramatic work as well. I think she's probaly a bit less castable than Wu just because of her general persona and looks, but just based on raw talent, I don't think there's really much in between them. If anything, I think Awk has a weightier screen presence.

I have no idea which option is for which actress but Constance Wu for me. Really liked her in Hustlers as well. Talking about Hustlers, JLo's entry scene.. whoaaa😍

I like Awkwafina. However, there's just something about her voice that I don't really like listening to. In small doses it's fine, and it's the a credit to just how great The Farewell was that I was able to get past that and love that movie. It does make her distinctive, but it hurts my ears after a certain amount of time. I still voted for her though, lol.
I liked Wu on her first few seasons on Fresh off the Boat, but her character became really one note. I guess that's more the writing's fault than her's, but I feel a better actress could add something more to it like Randall Park's character has become somewhat Flanderized too yet I still enjoy his character most of the time. Plus while I enjoyed Crazy Rich Asians, the leads were totally forgettable although she was definitely not as bland as Henry Golding was. She did surprise me in Hustlers just because from the marketing and reviews, it seemed like she was totally overshadowed by Jennifer Lopez, but I think she did well there. Still not enough for me to vote for here though, she's okay, but even with me not liking Awkwafina's voice, I feel that at least she has some kind of star quality, and with their acting being about on the same level, I had to go with her over Wu.
