This is still off the chain. None of the saccharine or status quo bullshit, just an impeccably-delivered monologue about one's inspiration. Love it:

It is a really good one for sure.
Some I love are:
Peter O' Toole for his Honorary Award. The man was class personified. I do love me a trainwreck, so Melissa Leo is just endlessly brilliant. Christian Bale was the business for the whole season, but his Oscar speech was just gravy. It showed a side of him that isn't seen often. Julia Roberts is another winner in my books. I love the win, and I love how she just epitomises delight. There is no qualms about hiding how pleased she is. Joe Pesci kept it as simple as you can really, but it didn't come across as remotely rude or ungrateful. Cher gave a super sweet and classy speech, as did Beatrice Straight. Michael Caine was just a class apart from almost any speech I've seen at any award show. Olivia Colman was magic. I could watch that on a loop for quite a while.
Honestly though, my favourite award winning speech isn't from the Oscars, it's Helena Bonham Carter at the BAFTAs for The Kings Speech.

Lovely speech indeed. My favorite is Dustin Hoffman's for Kramer v Kramer. Poignant and gracious at the same time.

Definitely Top 5 for sure. I was really disappointed he lost the Emmy just because I was curious to see what off-the-cuff riffs he would drop that night.

Lol fuck no. He was annoying as shit.
The best ones are the non-egotistical, concise, funny ones. Emma Thompson (both), Michael Caine, and Olivia Colman are all great examples. Cate Blanchett’s first and Helen Mirren’s are good too.
The worst are the self-important, lecturing bullshit. Leonardo DiCaprio is the biggest offender. For a millionaire flying private jets to lecture on the audience about climate change ... right. What a fucking moron.

Nah, I thought it was really boring and self-important. I like Meryl's and Blanchett's: very witty. Colman's also was a delight, so emotional. But none will ever touch Emma Thompson playing Jane Austen at the Golden Globes.
