The Madeleine Stowe part. Stowe was a goddess in that movie, but can anyone see Steenburgen well or just me?

Steenburgen is a fine actress and could def be in Cora's role but yes, Stowe was fantastic in it. Where did that question came from? I mean, why Steenburgen?

I like Steenburgen as an actress, but I've never seen her as someone who has the sex appeal of Stowe. Steenburgen has always given me a motherly vibe. Or a Librarian who might get a bit vampy after a few cocktails.
I think Stowe just fits the romantic period film heroine mould a lot better. So Steenburgen is someonen I'd cast instead of Stowe.

pupdurcs - That's actually a correct synopsis. But I think she definitely has a romantic period side. If Keira Knightley is assumed to have one, Steenburgen certainly does too. The only thing she might lack is the strength of Stowe's emotional vigor in some of her more passionate scenes..... "the sooner French guns blow the English army out of America" line, for instance. But maybe she'll have her own take with it. I think she definitely can excel in period settings though. Maybe The Piano is a better role for her actually now that I think of it. Holly Hunter is a better fit for Hester Prynne in The Scarlett Letter, now that I think about it even more. And DAMN. I'm now a bit alarmed at your news bulletin. At first I was like: "who cares about thread views? Who's this loser complaining?" But now that I know what the deal really was..... yeah 2000 views in 2 hours, dang wtf. I think someone might've linked it onto an actors aficionado site, because of the erudite nature of the thread fascinates some curious minds. That's the only logical explanation or somebody really tried to hack this site, but couldn't cover all of his tracks and left one clue neglected. LOL.

Is it though or is it a way to try to embarrass or find a conspiracy that isn't there because the "person" counting fncked it up and counted wrong or didn't count guests or his mom counted wrong cause you know .......his Mom - is that what the board is for - where's the sense of community or fun in that or "movies" in that? Isn't it far more like his Mom lost track of the numbers for him I'd say. I'm more alarmed by his lunatic harassment of moderators - in fact how many times does he need to post flat out profanity before he's kicked off of here? How about that and no one complains about it - certainly I don't but ..........you could.......far more than thread views..... Not just "stop that" but his profanity posts should be wiped out of here completely - how many times has he called someone an "a**hole" or a "twat" - look it up use the Search function under his name......but it's less than how many times he's flat out lied on here - not opinion but lied - check Good God and his post - you going to tell me that guy is wrong? He's not.......not in the least.

And just taking a guess at your ages, you both must be over the age of 35 and it seems like this rivalry is pretty intense. Its cool and all because I'm the impartial one in this. Just I wonder what the deal with you two is. (obviously some stuff I don't know about) its like my dinner with andre and youre both severely at odds with each other. Im just wondering about that thread count. 2000 views in 2 hours can't be just registered users. It's more of a "conspiracy from outside" thing. Not that its too relevant in the end but Im just slightly intrigued pupdurcs brought this to light because it obviously bypassed me.

It was just hilarious to watch the thread go from 12,800 views to over 20,000 views in less than 4 days I was having a sorta viewing party via PM with a couple of interested posters, and we were seriously laughing at the thread adding at least 2000 views a day, on a mostly empty board. It's was the level of spamming going on that was so shocking to some of us. Funnily enough, I mentioned no names on the board....just the activity.

pupdurcs - you mentioned my thread and my "best thread ever" joke that I make a lot on here - in your sig see below - my sig is a 100% fact, but your sig is an Alex Jones conspiracy theory. Give it a rest and let the moderators relax for a day - that's not the point of the board at all - the point of the board is just to talk movies or music or TV etc. and have a sense of respect and community. I just posted on Depardieu, earlier I posted on Citizen X .....that's where your head should be.......not to be such a wackadoodle that the moderator has to make a thread for how wackadoodle your behavior seems to be. ************************************************************************************************************** August 7th, 2019--- A day in Movie Awards Infamy when the Best Actor/Actress Across Film/Stage/TV thread gained TWO THOUSAND views in 2 HOURS....on an empty board with almost no viewers. Only The Best Thread Ever can pull off these miracles!

Only The Best Thread Ever can pull off these miracles! I mentioned the insane and literally impossible rate of view growth on the thread and I made a joke about it being the best thread ever. Not who did it (you are the one who seems to be pointing the finger at yourself). My sig literally leaves it to people's imagination. It could have been an "outside conspiracy" like Urbanpatrician said (though why anyone from outside would do that is a mystery in itself). Maybe it was Aliens Like I said, other posters saw it happening in real time and were laughing their butts off as well. Funniest shit I've seen this week . If this is no big thing as you claim, you might want to stop talking about it, for your own sake. Because right now, you are the one drawing attention to this week's hilarious events and pointing the finger at yourself. But yeah, I like my sig as it is.

Mary Steenburgen should be in every movie, so I'd obviously be on board with this. Stowe was great, though.

Ok. Bye. * Matt and Ben "bought" Affleck a GG. Conspiracy theory.
* You can't "buy" a SAG. Roflmao
* Affleck was "never" the front runner. Really? Conspiracy theory.
* Critics decided to back the underdog. They did? Who says?- They all got together and "did that"? Conspiracy Theory.
* The "second" that "pundits" saw Washington's performance he became the frontrunner. Right. Roflmao x 2. Conspiracy theory.

The only poster on here who has even mentioned thread views (which most of us don't even notice, because that's how much it matters) is Scrudpup. And, frankly, he seems obsessed about it. I'm wondering if Scrudpup did it himself (with the help of some of his chums, possibly) to try and frame pacinoyes (because it's his thread) He clearly sees this as some kind of competition and figured this would be one way to win it.

Please let's have some thoughts here, first for Mary Steenburgen, a fine actress we so rarely talk about whose thread got a little bit derailed (hopefully we will go back to it soon) and of course for that refresh key who got completely murdered during the last few days if that "12,800 views to over 20,000 views in less than 4 days" is mostly the insane oeuvre of a one single madman. But I want to believe in humanity, so to me the aliens probably invaded that thread.

I think we've had enough of the oveure of single madmen for awhile, so...umm...aliens.

Stowe for me. Steenbergen is great but I can't imagine anyone else in that part.
