I don't think we've ever discussed this film, here or back on IMDb. I watched it for the first time yesterday - it's such a joyous crowd-pleaser with an entirely pitch-perfect ensemble of players. It's impossible to relate just how much heart and warmth it has. If you've seen it, what did you think?

Definitely discussed this back on IMDb... I loved it. One of my favorites of the year and Andrew Scott was absolutely fantastic.

It's bags of fun, and has a huge heart without ever getting too soppy. The ensemble is one of the best of the year for sure.

Yep, it's pretty outstanding, never outlandish or melodramatic. Tons of fun and yeah the entire ensemble is to die for. I nominate Dominic West & Andrew Scott in a pretty stacked supporting actor lineup in 2014

It's the first thing I ever saw him in, and I just assumed he was Northern Irish until I saw Goat, which he is frickin' brilliant in.

Similarly, I assumed that he was really English when I was watching The Riot Club - is he our next Meryl in terms of accent work? And he looks like this! :

It was fine but not for me, I thought it was a bit didactic and corny and in educational mode ( althought the point that makes about socialism is pretty good ), but very much has its niche, just last year Professor Marston and Wonder Women fit the description, but I like that talks about dissidence, pride and the urgency of visibility of the two gangs that shape the film and in contrast to the pride/parade day nowadays, it was more connected with less frivolous causes, they are marching not because they're not accepted by the system instead because they want to change it.
