Had you heard this?Interesting. Lyne hasn't made anything since Unfaithful, which was a box office success and garnered Diane Lane an Oscar nomination. It's disappointing - his films may usually be lacking in plot, but there's no denying his artistry - he has a singular vision, and his films are always visually stunning. Would you have been interested in seeing his version of the story?

I have to be honest I thought both those first two Affleck films were big nothings - well cast and well acted they are fine but they are just fine - 7's - but Gone Baby Gone was generic to me with a painful obvious ending and The Town really wants to be Heat.......and it totally is but you know without the screenplay, acting, nuance, metaphors, and directorial vision.
I don't know about Lyne there since he doesn't have anything similar but sometimes I see films I think are suited to Lyne - Nocturnal Animals for one. Then again Jacob's Ladder was unlike anything he'd done in a lot of ways too......

Good he didn't. I loved The Town the way it was. A heist story with great characters and action. I wouldn't trust him to make it the same way as Affleck did.

Sorry but I can't find a single film of Lyne that I liked... On the other hand, the Town was a good movie. Didn't love it, just liked it. But I can't consider Affleck an artist. Not even a film maker of sorts. He has directed some fine films and that's it. He's better director/writer than actor. Which he isn't...

I love The Town (and thought Affleck did an excellent job acting & directing it). Really enjoyed the Boston setting too. Loved this shot.

Sorry but I can't find a single film of Lyne that I liked... You don't even like Fatal Attraction? I thought it was OK and that's about it. The story seemed to be a little "too much". I love Close in it of course but I wouldn't call it one of the best films of hers.
