His post Interstellar output has been extremely disappointing. The Sea of Trees, Free State of Jones, Gold, The Dark Tower, and Serenity were all utter disasters. Outside of his voice work he hasn’t really done any successful and the only roles that at least have seemed interesting were The Beach Bum and maybe White Boy Rick.
He has such an amazing steak from 2011 - 2015, I really hope he can even get to where half his work is performances/films of that caliber.

I don't think so - first of all I think the McConaissance was somewhat a myth to me and an internet creation/click bait thing. I don't think it's that great a streak tbh - although there's some great stuff there definitely - (DBC, TD, Lincoln Lawyer). To me a lot of that stuff is good though and not great - Killer Joe, Mud or........ even less than that - Magic Mike.
Usually actors don't move from peak to peak - and in his case it was such a great story (hence the "internet creation" angle) because he was perceived as a joke. But I think to do it you kind of need dumb luck and usually as you get older - he's almost 50 - those streaks are a lot smaller - 2 or 3 roles and not as many as you got when you were younger and working more.

Not to the same extent as his first one, because let's be real: that streak changed his entire image and woke people up to the fact that Matty Mac was more than just a Hollywood hunk who leaned in rom-com posters.
It should be noted that even in his perceived flops, he's almost always excellent and giving it 1000%. I think he'll be back again. Just needs the right material.

The Lincoln Lawyer (2011) Killer Joe (2011) Mud (2012) Magic Mike (2012) Dallas Buyers Club (2013) Wolf of Wall Street (2013 - cameo) True Detective (2014) Interstellar (2014)
Within 3-4 years, he made 7-8 projects, either great ones or great performances in them. As far as I'm concerned, yes you can call that a streaK!! In these 4 years, he won an Oscar and a GG and was nomianted for another GG and 2 Emmys. Hell, that's something!!!!
I don't think he's one hell of an actor because he isn't. But I give him credit for what he did, esp. having played in stupid comedies prior to that.
Since 2014 he's been in awful stuff, that's true. I don't really get that McConaissance term but if he doesn't make something good out of the Guy Ritchie film he's in, then I don't see him having another streak. He's still a major star but not for long if he keeps that way.

No.
He's lost the element of surprise, which is what allowed the first McConnisance to happen. He was the beneficiary of low expectations and exceeded them tenfold. He hasn't got the technical range or virtuosity of someone like Nicole Kidman or Marlon Brando who both had two distinct performance era "streaks", the latter ones reconfirming their preminence among all-time great actors.
For what it's worth, he may have the greatest individual acting streak in screen acting history, but it's still just a streak, not a career. There are demonstrably greater actors in his generation who deliver at a high level consistently, and not just for 2-3 year super-peak.
He can defintely have more strong performances. Maybe do something to get him another awards season run. But he'll never get that moment again.

It's possible. He's still very popular, the goodwill from 2011-2015 era still exists and while his recent output may be somewhat disappointing, he was fully committed to the parts ("White Boy Rick" was particularly a great work ) and one could see why he went after these projects as they probably sounded better on paper. Kind of weird that he doesn't get a great opportunity for a while but that certainly isn't for lack of trying.

Or to phrase it another way, he got nominated for 1 Oscar (won) and 1 Emmy (lost) and got 2 Golden Globe nominations with the same result for the same roles. I mean that happens a lot really ................ he wasn't nominated for 2 Emmy's - just 1. I mean it's still impressive but really it still comes down to those 2 roles mostly...........

You're right, the other Emmy nod was as an exec. Yet, as you already said, he was quite good in The Lincoln Lawyer, Killer Joe, Mud and Magic Mike. No awards (that's not the real point here anyway) but a fine job. On topic, I'm not at all sure he'll be coming back. He tries to be in interesting projects that finally fail... I really hope his latest won't. Not for McConaughey but for Ritchie.

Man I hope so! The McConaissance from 2011 to 2015 was something to behold.
