Can't say this does much but Øvredal's Jane Doe movie was good and GdT of course.........seems very old fashioned, in an It sort of way.....

A corpse looking for her missing toe...
I'm not sure whether I should laugh or be insulted.

I never read these stories but I HAVE seen The Autopsy of Jane Doe and that was deliciously creepy. I had reservations about the story but the way Øvredal composed the scares really had me hooked. I loved how much terror he was able to milk out of closeups of a corpse's face without ever betraying that tension with a cheap jumpscare (like having her move or some shit like that). I felt the same way about Flanagan's The Haunting of Hill House. Waiting for that jumpscare, waiting for something to go bump in the night is terrifying because it taps into that fear of the unknown and throws your expectations into chaos. You don't know if something will happen or what it would be, but you feel like something has to happen, to break that unbearable tension. The best horror directors know that that's where the best thrills are. That waiting for something to happen.
that was a rant but basically I'm excited for this and I hope it's as scary as Jane Doe.
also can't wait for Doctor Sleep. Flanagan is fast becoming another favorite.

I hated the teaser trailer, but this one looks better. I liked the last Del Toro co-scripted/produced horror Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, and Jane Doe was pretty good especially the first half and the Cox/Hirsch relationship.
2019 Horrors have been a letdown so far I think.... could use a surprise. Every year deserves a 1922!

Cool trailer. A bit of an improvement over the teaser, which did its purpose, but this is far more effective in conveying its tone. Some of the imagery looks downright disturbing.
Looking forward to the film too. I use to like reading the series as a kid, in retrospective the stories themselves weren't particular scary, just the cover art, which could often seem misleading. The movie appears to be taking the anthology route, which makes perfect sense, and is a rarity these date, especially for what I presume will be a wide released film. I'm curious to see how the movie will turn out, GDT's involvement certainly has me interested.

If there’s a cameo from The Viper it’ll all be worth it.
