Angelic, gentle, genuine, poetic... She made such an impact in her short career. Her tragic death is as haunting as Romy Schneider and Jean Seberg... My heart aches that these women were never able to find peace in this world.
I will be seeing The Fixer with Sir Alan Bates and Sir Dirk Bogarde soon - I can't wait to see these talented actors together onscreen. I am so in love with her beautiful and delicate work in A Patch of Blue, You're a Big Boy Now, The Beguiled, The Secret of NIMH...

I've only seen her in A Patch of Blue and The Beguiled but she was just extraordinary in both, especially the former - what a powerful, pure performance. And the story of her battle with depression is just devastating.
I don't know how popular or even well-known A Patch of Blue is among the people in general but I believe that if more folks heard about it and saw it, it'd definitely become one of those absolute people's favorites. And she'd be the main reason for that.

JangoB - If you like A Patch of Blue, I would also highly recommend One Potato, Two Potato, featuring a Cannes-winning performance from Barbara Barrie. A heartbreaking but necessary viewing experience IMO.

I'll be seeking it

This always breaks my heart from her Wikipedia page: Her sister and caretaker, Janet, told the Los Angeles Times:
"She was very suicidal... As soon as I arrived, she took an overdose of sleeping pills and was rushed to intensive care. But, the next night, she appeared on stage and she was wonderful. I spent two weeks with her to try to get her to the theater every night. She was frightened of everyone and everything. We'd go to breakfast, and she'd get up and dash out as though somebody was after her"
