World license plates? What a random Final Jeopardy category...
Aside from that, I feel like the clues have gotten somewhat easier in this new season. Like today, I was able to answer about half of the clues overall, which hasn't happened before (usually I can only get around 1/3 of them on average).

I got butterflies (I started with cicadas, scratched that out when I realized that butterflies are pretty and people like them), but I botched two daily doubles.

Ah yes, the asteroid that hit 70% of North America in the 1930s. We all remember being taught about that.

Within the last week, the current champion has said during the contestant interviews that he was a "continuity consultant" for the live-action Ghost in the Shell movie, and today he said he cosplays as (old) Luke Skywalker... peak nerdom right there.
I was dangerously close to not getting today's Final Jeopardy because I was trying to think of a famous stunt man or something, but then I thought of Stan Lee at the last second. One of those questions that probably seems stupidly obvious after you're told what it is.

One week after Connery. Those two couldn't live without each other.
Fare thee well, Alex. You were forever a staple of my childhood.

This one hurts. A part of my (week-)daily life for many years. Rest easy, boss.

Well I know what I'm doing every day at 7pm until xmas. And it won't be much different from what I often do at 7pm with my fam. He's always been around, always felt that way, and though I was back and forth as a consistent watcher, when I was it always felt worth it and largely bc of Trebek. RIP

Well this is shitty news to wake up to after yesterday's headlines.
RIP to the greatest game show host ever.

One of the most devastating recent celebrity deaths for me, and that is saying a hell of a lot. Just won't be the same without him. RIP legend.

I wonder if Ken Jennings might take over since he's still pretty attached to the show...

I wonder if Ken Jennings might take over since he's still pretty attached to the show... I'd personally want to see Brad Rutter. Ken's really good but Brad's got a natural ease in front of the camera I quite like, and besides, I think Ken's more synonymous with competing (along with James) to the point we'd want to see him again. Brad's got nothing more to prove.

It was sad watching this for the first time knowing Alex was gone. It felt different. With the way the lights went out at the beginning of the intro clip I hope that does not mean they are ending the show.
