A sports bettor from Vegas just shaaaaaaattered the single game record. Wow.
Thought the guy was a weirdo a few days ago, but he's kind of growing on me.

It was incredible. I still think it's really early to bring out Ken Jennings/Brad Rutter comparisons, but this guy really does take it up a notch by going all in with his Daily Double wagers. Still, imagine spending months (or years) trying to get on this show, going through the rigorous tests and screenings, and finally getting the call -- only to be up against this dude on this day.

Thought the guy was a weirdo a few days ago, but he's kind of growing on me. This dude is easily my favourite. He seems like a good, non-cocky winner. He's cool. And when they revealed his wager, I thought it was $3800 .

This is the only time that betting $38,000 in Final Jeopardy is considered conservative. I was actually going "that's it?"

The guy had an off night and still won $50k+... lmaoooo.
Wish the lady could've made it interesting with the daily double...

Best thing I've seen is some of the winners eligible for the upcoming Tournament of Champions hoping to God that James's streak continues until their ToC is over, so that he qualifies for the following year's ToC.

Rough night for him tonight. Headed into Final Jeopardy with a meager ~%50k (next up is $10k and then... $2400)

Highest ever recorded by a runner-up at least.

One of the GOAT Jeopardy games. I'm a little suspicious that James took a dive ($60k short of Jennings' total winnings ), but Emma (and to a lesser extent Jay --- who felt to me like a genuine Deadwood fan when answering it) was truly excellent. Felt like Trebek was on the verge of tears when saying goodbye to him... heavy shit.

What a streak. Couldn't nab the record, but in terms of sheer impressiveness and balls, James is easily on par with Ken and Brad.
I really hope Emma sticks around a while. It was a bit disappointing when Nancy Zerg went out immediately after dethroning Ken; I'd hate for Emma to be a one-day wonder.

Noooo James ... somehow the fact that he accepted his defeat with that puny wager (and Alex’s reaction of course) made it all the more heartbreaking. Damn well done on Emma’s part though ... those daily doubles were key, had to beat him at his own game.

I'm a little suspicious that James took a dive ($60k short of Jennings' total winnings ) My Dad and are are saying the same thing. He thinks that James didn't want to steal Jennings record (modesty), and I say it was because Emma gave him a good run and was worthy of beating him. Anyways, I am shocked .

He knew that if Emma got it right he would have lost anyway, but if she got it wrong he would win because she would have to come out to less than $22,000.

Anyone watching the fuckin Teen Tournament?
Tiebreaker rules need to be changed... that was the easiest question ever. Felt bad for the husky kid.

I have only been able to catch bits and pieces while at the gym (only certain TVs have it on)... but what's the tie breaker? I don't think I've ever seen a tie before.

I yelled at the TV yesterday when none of the contestants could identify a photo of Mick Jagger. Kids these days...

They reveal a category, and then a question... and then they buzz in and answer the question. Very lame.
