Well it’s kinda fitting since one of the leads is Jonah Hill’s sister.

The trailer for this and Good Boys dropped today and both have a Superbad-ish premise and showed up to the party with the same shirt on - they feature the same song Nobody Speak by DJ Shadow. Whoops!
This looks pretty enjoyable but also feels closely in line with what it's likened to; Blockers, similar gist, also has a lesbian co-lead btw.

I'm really tired of this "young kids acting up and being bad" formula. When is young children saying "fuck" going to stop being funny?
that being said, this looks better to me than Good Boys. Hopefully it'll be more in the vein of last year's "Never Goin' Back" which was actually really funny, but it does look like its going to hammer all the predictable beats of this kind of flashy studio comedy about kids swearing and getting into hijinx and it supposed to be funny because oh my god they're kids and they just said "fuck." Oh my god so edgy.

Never Goin Back was a bit underrated from last year - it's plot-contrived and feels a little contained, but I liked it, it has serious themes without being cute about them, and the main two actors are funny in an ironic, conspiratorial way and have really great chemistry - you completely buy them as these devil may care friends.

That all these girls aspire to do is eat donuts by the beach can be seen as a subtly tragic commentary on American society and a "grass is always greener" mindset, and it also invites you to imagine yourself as someone similarly trapped by a combination of low self-expectations and a scarcity of opportunities. There's more depth in that little stoner comedy than will be in either of these studio comedies. I'm sure these movies will be about the importance of friendship or whatever, which is fine. Not every movie has to mean something. But as these kind of movies aren't really my thing I am looking for something that at least tries to rise above that "friendship is magic" formula. so yeah, I definitely agree that Never Goin' Back was underrated

Olivia Wilde just moved out of the Jessica Biel / Megan Fox lane to become an accomplished, acclaimed director. I think this has to be the most shocking accomplishment since Ben Affleck with Gone Baby Gone. What kind of plot twist!?

She's kinda step above the other two.
