Anyone else adore this film? I can imagine people might love or hate it potentially? But one of my favourites last year. I absolutely loved it! What were your thoughts?

I actually start tearing up at certain places like the whole scene on the bus. I did actual sobbing at stuff like discussion of farts and excrement meeting in the afterlife!

I also loved it. Really funny and easily one of the strangest and most unique films of the decade so far.

There's something holding me back from loving it - I think a lot of the humor and the ending didn't totally work for me, but it's really beautiful filmmaking. I have Daniel Radcliffe nominated at the moment, but I still have lots to see so that category is a little weak for me at the moment. I love the production design, cinematography, and the score - really inspired.

I totally get why it's so divisive, but I fall somewhere in the middle. It was unique, I'll give it that, but it doesn't work over all. Loved the score though.

I was really loving it, then the ending left me somewhat mixed. I get what it was going for and commend it for how it subverts indie film conventions (specifically for calling out how the weird quirky guy obsessing over a woman from afar is straight-up creepy), but it also left me really cold and distant which felt dishonest from how the film was presenting itself to that point. I still really like it overall, but it could have been a new favorite with a bit of tinkering. With all that said, Radcliffe is still one of my favorite performances of 2016.

This film really did a great job of bringing out all these emotions in a very creative and amusing manner.

Literally just finished watching it. Like others, I think the ending kind of holds the movie back for me.
But also I think "the first fart makes you laugh and the last fart makes you cry." is the greatest pitch for a movie I've ever heard

Part of me wants to check that movie out because it has Daniel Radcliffe in a funny and strange role. But I'm not sure how strange the movie is going to be. Is it mostly a stoner comedy? I heard mixed things about it.

I can understand how it is divisive, but that's the thing with divisive films: if you hate it it is kind of hard to imagine how anyone could love it. Whereas, I love the film so much and even though on the surface it is full of as dumb humour as could be, I find it more full of depth and truth and emotion than... a great number of 2016's offerings shall we say! . Sometimes I was laughing in hilarity and sobbing from emotion simultaneously, watching it. I like the end because it makes you uncomfortable and then kind of passes it over to the viewer to pass judgements both on Hank and on what the film is itself. If it hadn't have the very ending of the ending, I think I would have been a bit sad about the end.

I consider it to be quietly one of the most brilliant films of last year. It's always fun describing this movie to people as "Harry Potter's a corpse that farts and has a boner compass".

I think that a rewatch is in order for me as I still have no idea what to think of the movie and whether I like or hate it.

One of my least favorites of last year. Holy crap was it a chore to get through, I was practically tearing my hair out after the first 10 minutes.
I liked Dano's performance but that was about it, everything else (especially the "humor")...no thanks
