so I guess this is A24's answer to The Prodigy? I do enjoy the creepy kid trope but there's something missing from this trailer. Seems like its going through the motions and formulaic with the exact same style of the Hereditary trailer last year. Not sure about this one...

Yeah, everything that A24 is releasing in collaboration with DirecTV is just a joke. Not even within their true canon, I'd say. Like that one biker movie where the plot was basically if Sons of Anarchy was based on Macbeth rather than Hamlet. Looked godawful, and this going-through-the-motions horror doesn't look much better. I expect it's another straight-to-VOD release that doesn't get talked about.

Yeah... I maintain what I said about horror films yesterday.

I dunno, I liked Hereditary but not that much and this falls into the same schtick - ie a family horror that evokes other horrors. Great, but here's an idea, Trump is in The White House, there's global warming and eco-terror, there's Brexit, the US government just shut down and may shut down again, random act of terror occur daily, the globalization made possible by computers and the Web can and does result in identity theft, isolation, ennui, fear of those around us and mistrust, healthcare costs are making our most basic long term care vulnerable. See - there's a whole lot to be scared of......so make something about..........anything........... besides an f'n horror movie about your kid.
