Well I don't think anyone will give a damn on this board - we're too busy with Best Costume Design 1934 or what precursor matters (sarcasm ) but this trailer shows a keen thematic understanding to this event - ie the freedom of dance and the freedoms not available to Nureyev. Nureyev is a historic figure and not merely a historic figure in dance - he's closer to Punk Rock or Rimbaud really. There is a whole other film that can be made about him not even related to this at all - he and Jamie Wyeth the painter that gets into discussions of how the artists subject should be presented when the subject is actually a greater artist THAN the artist hired to portray him. Bravo Fiennes....looking forward to this.

Can't say I'm excited about this...
But Fiennes is one of my favorite actors (I still hail his snub for The Constant Gardener as the biggest of the 2000's) and he did a good job with Coriolianus... but this doesn't interest me in the slightest. Looks like the standard Made-for-HBO hot-button movie of the season.
Except, you know, the hot button has long since gone cold in this case.

Ballet doesn't do much for me, but as pacinoyes rightfully said, Nureyev was more than a dancer, he's a figure of historic dimensions. It's not high on my radar, but it could be interesting.
